The Ultimate Third Party Encyclopedia!
I’ve been working on this project all week and now I think it’s to the point where I can reasonably invite others to come check it out. So, I would like to happily announce the launch of The Ultimate Third Party Encyclopedia!
It’s based on “wiki” software which powers a number of similar sites including the hugely popular Wikipedia, a free encyclopedia of general interest. What does that mean? Well, basically it means that anyone can create or edit any of the articles… all you have to do is become a registered member.
Right now there aren’t very many articles, and many of them need much more information. Would you like to lend a hand? Well, jump right in!

I know this isn’t what you meant, but Libertarian Socialist is a term used by certain third-positionist (traditionalists and fascists) to describe their political philosophy, most notably Bill White in Virginia, who currently heads up a National Socialist Movement cell and publish “Libertarian Socialist News.” I’d put up a link but I doubt AFCassidy wants me to link to a racist website.

I think a race involving Feingold, McCain, Clark, and Ventura would be kind of insane. Not going to happen, but if it somehow did we would probably see a repeat of the election of 1860.

What kind of objectivity policy is there? Can I write an article that says that the LP is the best party ever and the others suck?
What about grammar and style and everything? Is there any guide as to how we should do this?
Looks really cool though, I’m looking forward to seeing it grow!

A brilliant idea! Note that there will be a lot of overlap with Wikipedia, and it’s perfectly okay to lift articles directly from Wikipedia as long as credit is given.

Clown: I’m planning to write up something about objectivity in the next few days… I just wanted to get the site working and public to start with. Also, for now, common sense should be fine. If an article is hugely slanted then I or someone else will likely edit it pretty quickly.
Note on the editing page there are several links to Wikipedia tutorials and such, one of those is the the Wikipedia Manual of Style:

That’s cool… the Libertarian Party has a wiki on its site with its history, I don’t know how much has been put up there but you can probably lift some information from there.
And yeah… I’m not quite sure how “libertarian” came to be adopted by NAZIS but it makes about as much sense as Margaret Thatcher marrying Leonid Brezhnev.
