Gonzalez Running Again
In 2004, Republican Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart defeated Libertarian challenger Frank Gonzalez by a margin of 73-27%. This was a surprisingly strong showing for a Libertarian in a Congressional race. In fact, it’s a better performance than Democrat Patrick Cusack’s 24% in 1998… the last time Diaz-Balart had been challenged.
Next year, Gonzalez is trying again… this time running as an anti-war Democrat.

I wish Frank well. He really had a amazing ride, and I hope we can turn the LP into enough iof a political machine to get him into office as a LP candidate if he doesnt make it this time – but I bet he will make it this time.

If he does make it, there’s always the chance he could switch while in office.
Biggest problem might be the huge Cuban population of the district, and the current Congressman is also Cuban.
I think Gonzalez actually did REALLY well in Broward County, like just a little under 40% there. But Miami-Dade killed him.

Here is it… about 37% in Broward, but only 25% in Miami-Dade.
