Bludorn Switches Parties, Runs Again
Scott Bludorn, a Libertarian Party 2004 candidate for Illinois state house, is now a Republican.
After receiving 8.2% of the vote last November, Bludorn switched his registration in January and has since become an active Republican. Now he’s decided to run for state house again, this time by entering the the Republican primary.
Bludorn said the time he spent with the Libertarian Party was a result of frustration with the Republicans. His recent decision to become Republican was inspired by the support he received from grass-roots Republican activists during his recent campaign. The move also coincides with the possibility that state Rep. Sidney Mathias, R-53rd, of Buffalo Grove, will run for the state Senate seat being vacated by state Sen. Wendell Jones, R-27th, who announced last week he will not run for re-election in 2006. When asked if he is considering running for Jones’ seat, Mathias said, “I have not made up my mind.” Mathias added that he would decide soon but hasn’t set a deadline.
Bludorn’s campaign hopes would certainly gain if Mathias makes a run for Jones’ Senate seat. The popular Republican incumbent won re-election 2004 with almost 60 percent of the vote in a three-person race.
Mathias said he welcomes Bludorn to the Republican Party.
“We always encourage more people to join us,” Mathias said.

Well, that really just sucks. Both him and Gonzalez in FL giving up and going back to the major parties.
Maybe they’ll at least win their elections this time around.

I contributed to Bludorn’s campaign last time when he ran as a Libertarian but I won’t this time as he runs as a Republican.

[...] It seems like we’ve seen a lot of these stories in the past week… Scott Bludorn, John Featherman, and Dennis Hawver. It almost makes the more paranoid observer wonder if this is being organized. [...]
