The Pawlowski Comments…
I’ve locked both of the recent threads about Jeff Pawlowski as there seem to be some people on this site who cannot control themselves. I absolutely do not want to make people register in order to leave comments, so please do not post under any name but your own.
When you post… I can see your IP address and I can see your email address.

Thats why I always give more attention to people who post using their real names.

the NJLP is a mess. All these people bring it upon themselves by believing they are the sole true bearers of libertarianism, and XYZ is less of the libertarian than they are, so they gotta go.
Thats the real root of every single struggle for power I’ve ever seen in the LP’s I’ve been involved with. NJLP is no exception.

Tim West, with all respect, seems to have overlooked most of the recent major disputes within the national Libertarian Party, none of which were related to the question of who the true bearer of the libertarian faith actually is.

George, with all due respect, thats all the fighting is ever about at the membership level. I’m aware of some of those battles, and not aware of others. But I do know one thing:
The Libertarian Party LOVES to fight. And 9 times out of then the fighting is about exactly what I said it is about. Someone decides someone else is “not libertarian” in some way and they proceed to make life hell for everyone around them.
I will double bet you that the NJLP’s problems have their roots in that someone decided XYZ was not “their” kind of libertarian. It may have manifested itself into charges of withholding dues money and a dozen other things, but the start is almost always the same. A power struggle.

The only problem NJLP has is with two individuals who have been very vocal spouting nonsense.
I wish we had a power struggle. Getting someone to run for office is not easy. We tend to be so excited over new blood that we will elect someone into office and/or nominate someone for office just because they are a new face and say the right things at a convention. People got excited over our recently removed chair and elected him without knowing anything about him or his background starting trouble in other political parties.
At the present time we have a very libertarian gubernatorial candidate in Jeff Pawlowski. He is very well spoken on libertarian issues and comes across very well on television and radio. The attacks on him on this website are being done by two troublemakers with nothing better to do with their time.

Be careful what you say in print and what name you use when you do so. Especially as you are an NJLP officer and Chair of a campaign.
Lovers of true liberty should freely allow others to be vocal without restriction. Let the readers judge its content and worth…not you. And try not to restrict, ban or censor the expression of other views. This is after all not an NJLP where you can empoy such tactics.

Well my friend I attended NJLP meetngs for well over a year during the time when Vic Kaplan was Chair and even after his resignation. Maybe if you had attended more NJLP state meetings and perhaps a few county meetings you could have got to know me.
After Victor Kaplan resigned in disgust and frustration I thought the work he attemoted to try and recruit a full slate for the NJ Assembly elections needed to be continued. I was given the task of continuing this effort and I did so. When the NJLP convention was held in March 2005 we had over 35 Assembly candidates! What happened to them? I am sure you know that the only way for the NJLP to become a major party is to run candidates in the Assembly and Senate elections. Why hasn’t the NJLP done so in its 30 year history? Then when it had an opportunity to do so it threw the same away….perhaps with intent. Just running a candidate for governor and a handful of Assembly candidates will not secure the NJLP major party status. Then again you know that.
I do agree with you new blood and new faces are a threat to the never-changing one -county based NJLP party leadership. While many in the NJLP see the logic of term limits for those in public office they can not apply the same principle to their own affairs.
And you keep on harping on about my time in the Conservative Party. I left the same because I am not a neo-con and could not support the war in Iraq. I have met more neo-cons in the LP and NJLP then I did in the NJ Conservative Party! And note this: The LP was a sponsor of the recent Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, DC. Yes, they actually recruited conservatives. I am sure the LP has former Republicans, Democrats, Liberals and Conservatives. If you are intent on selling Libertarianisn to others then you must broaden your mind to the fact that it has a message of freedom for ALL….not just the elect. If you wish to see a Libertarian get elected their message must appeal to a broad base….not a narrow one.
Now why dont you stop wasting your time by impersonating others and go post some of those great Libertarian isssues your party and candidate have to say to the people of NJ. Looking at your candidates web it has little to say other than to ask for money. if your honest you should admit this. Rather than typing a reply go and put some Libertarian solutions to NJ problems on your candidates web. That effort would not be a waste of your time and I am tired of reading your crap (signed, unsigned or while impersonating someone else). If you are a member of the “The Party of Principle” try and see where you lost yours.

PS : The NJLP has had problems with more than “just two vocal individuals.” More have left the ranks of the NJLP, or been driven out in frusration, than are present members. Take that present membership and multiply it perhaps two or three times!
Then again perhaps it is best if mutes join the NJLP. Then they certainly will not be vocal.

[...] There is a new contact in Maryland. John Wagner has agreed to reorganize and promote the CP in his state. The previous Maryland Constitution Party disaffiliated from the national. Except for Oregon and Montana, just about all of the former state parties of the national Constitution Party that left the CP have been reorganized and becoming better organized for 2008 and other future upcoming elections. In addition, the Constitution Party finally has a contact in the District of Columbia, who is building the Party there locally. The national Constitution Party continues to grow nationwide, no matter the obstacles or opposition. [...]
