I watched some of the Canadian House of Commons action on CSPAN and I was surprised to see that their format is more similar to the British in tone and tenor than the U.S.-- i.e. it resembles an Eminem in 8 Mile style freestyle rap battle with disses, put-downs, and hoots and hollars from the crowd. I loved it!

The Liberal Party, which is actually the centrist party of the three largest in Canada, is the governing party... For now. The right-wing Conservatives are the leading opposition, and the Quebec sepratists (I don't remember the party's name) plus the left-wing New Democrat Party (NDP) have joined the Conservatives to overthrow the Liberals.

The Liberals are involved in some form of corruption that everyone else agrees took place. They were really getting jammed from both sides, as the Conservatives rallied against their big government governance, and the the NDP hammered them for selling out the poor. The Liberals said things that no politician in the U.S. would ever say, "We're for a strong central government!" Okay, Chairman Mao.

While the Conservatives hit hard, the NDP really hit the Liberals where it hurt. They pointed out that the only way the Liberals could get a budget passed was with the NDP's aid, and it was the NDP that forced the Liberals to eliminate some tax cuts for the rich in order for funding to go for aboriginals, low income housing, and a bunch of other nice stuff. The Liberals had nothing to say.

This shows why American "democracy" sucks so bad. The two party electoral dictatorship that disenfranchises a majority of citizens. Yes, the fascist "Constitution" Party deserves some representation, and on some issues, they would work together with the Greens. In others, the CP would work with the small contingent of American Nazi Party reps, while the Greens worked with the Commies, etc.
