Third Party Watch

This poll shows Libertarian presidential candidate Otto Guevara with the support of 8% of Costa Ricans. That puts the Libertarians in fourth place behind the National Liberation Party (45%), Citizens Action Party (20%), and Social-Christian Unity Party (10%). They are leading the Union for Change which is currently polling at 6%.

In October, this same poll shows a somewhat closer race for 2nd place with the Citizens Action Party at 16%, Social-Christians at 14%, and Libertarians at 11%. Costa Rica holds it’s next election in February and if no candidate reaches 40%, a run-off is held in April.
