Vermont Progressive Launches Radio Ad
Progressive Party state representative David Zuckerman continues to consider a bid for the U.S. Congressional seat being vacated by Bernie Sanders. As a way of testing the waters and drawing some early publicity, Zuckerman’s exploratory effort has launched a new radio advertisement.
The Press Release follows:
Rep. David Zuckerman took the airwaves today with an inagural radio spot highlighting exploration into a possible run for Congress.“Tell me what you think. I am here to listen. I want to take your thoughts into consideration while I decide whether or not to run for Congress,” the Progressive says in the ads.
He wants to know Vermonters’ opinions on health care, fuel assistance cuts, “tax cuts for the wealthy, the war in Iraq, the high cost of prescription drugs and healthcare.”
Acknowledging it is early to be running political ads—his chief opponents in the race, Sen. President Pro Tem Peter Welch, D-Windsor and Vermont Adjutant General Martha Rainville, a Republican who may enter the fray, have not gone to the air yet—Zuckerman said he’s merely looking for feedback.
“Lots of people encourage me to run but I want to be sure people who don’t know me get the chance to give me feedback,” the five-term representative from Burlington said in a statement.
The ads will air on WDEV, WVMT, WMOO and other stations.

I’m from Texas and I like the indpendent-mindedness of Vermonters. I spent some time there a couple summers ago for the first time and I think the VPP is good for Vermont. I sent Zuckerman a $ contribution just a few days ago. Citizen legislator…what a refreshing thought.
