Interesting fodder, except that Russo is a complete fraud. The movie was in fact never shown at the Cannes festival but rather on a portable setup on a beach nearby. Statements in the film are taken out of context and are completely misleading – the Constitution does indeed (as has been upheld repeated times) the levying of income taxes. Russo should know, as he owes $2 million in back taxes to the IRS - his supporters might be inclined to help him, except that many are doing time for tax evasion, so good luck in following his advice.

Brian, you found the tax code – created by an entity which is not a constitutional entity – based on a law (the 16th ammendment) which was never ratified.

Russo’s film is being previewed in a 15 minute clip circulated around the net on various right-wing and conspiracy-theory websites. If that clip is indicative of the film, Russo can safely kiss his political future goodbye. As I showed on my website in a nearly point for point debunking, Russo is moving into the realm of fringe politics even more so than the Libertarian party has become in recent years. His film makes obvious distortions and even tells outright lies, showing Russo thinks his audience is too stupid to actually go do some fact-checking. For example, the allegedly “missing” Federal law saying we have to pay income taxes? I found it in about 5 minutes of Googling the Federal Code and then again in the IRS code. Who’s “feelings” exactly are “hurt” by the “Fascism” part of the title? Only those who should be. This is not a lazy title, this is the truth. If you wrote that Russo gave too much away too soon, I might agree, but then , this isn’t a mystery.

A title any American fighting for freedom can relate too. Bravo!!

It’s about time someone has the courage to tell these horrific stories and wake up the deaf, dumb and silent individuals who are walking obviously admist corruption. To live under a Government that does not uphold values and seeks to ignore evidence & laws and indeed imparts injustice to it’s people then, it’s the people who indeed need to take a stand and overturn these corrupt officials. How dare they feel they have more rights and power than the people who put them in their place.

Any chance of it showing in the Tampa Bay area?

Hi, I’m actually in the movie. I thought the title was pretty radical too, but the stories told depict the kind of tyranny we are experiencing in many levels. I served on a jury that was trying a man for not filing his taxes. His argument was there is no law and the prosecution never proved him wrong – we declared him “not guilty.” It was certainly an eye-opening experience.

i haven’t seen the movie yet but i can honestly say that if what i am hearing about it’s content is true, i get a warm and fuzzy deep inside. i’m not too concerned about the title and i’m not sure how deep it goes into austrian economics, or the principles of liberty but i can tell you that anything regarding those issues in the mainstream is a positive thing. at least the issues are brought to the table and hopefully more will follow!

I just saw the movie today in Austin, Texas.

I liked it immensely. I don’t know if the title will turn anyone off….I hope the word of mouth reviews will get people to the theatres.

This is a movie that you could take Joe and Jane Six-pack to and at least get them thinking hard.

Deep down inside, most Americans can sense something is terribly wrong and gettin worse.

This movie while genuinely scary at times, was also entertaining and at times absolutely funny.

Russo in person was amazing! You could sense his heart and it is honest and pure. I wish his introduction could be part of the movie.

The movie will premiere in Tampa on February 18th.
It will be shown at the Channelside 10 Cinema, at 1:00. My friends and I are very excited and looking foward to something with some “umph” to it. It is about time that someone addressed the issues of IRS abuse and corruption in a feature film venue.
The title will attract attention and that’s what I would like to see. I’d like those who are already disenchanted with government to take a look at what has previously been a very conservative issue. Once they attract the attention of ALL parties, then perhaps we will have more backing to rid the country of the IRS and Federal Reserve agenda.
Misleading the people of America is nothing new, but Americans in general have, until recently, been lazy in standing up for their Constitutional Rights. Perhaps this will be a catalyst to move them off their butts and do something about the IRS abuse.
The Congress has not followed up on the 1998 changes it required of the IRS. They have paid mere lip service to the complaints of the people.
I have personally sent out invitations to every Congressman and Congresswoman in Florida to attend this screening. Whether they attend or not is to be seen, but we have to do more than complain. We have to put the issue in the face of govenment. And we have to stand up for Our Constitutional rights.
Personally, I thank Mr. Russo for making this film.

I can’t wait to see Aaaron Russo’s new movie. I hope the majority of the film delves into the issue of income taxes and the IRS so that Americans will see that their hard earned money has been stolen from them without due process of law for the last 80 years or so. A feature film on this issue is what was desperately needed to get this issue out in the mainstream and get millions talking. The government has been neglecting to answer questions regarding the Federal Income Tax for the last several years now from thousands of Patriots. Now with this film, that number may turn to millions. Given the present state of America, I think the title to this film is quite appropiate.

I guess that was directed at me? And that’s fine… you’re entitled to your opinion. What I find funny is that you tell me I should have the guts to do something other than complaining. This site is not pro-Libertarian, pro-Green, or pro-anything. I’m not writing here as an activist for any party, but trying to report on the news and happenings in the world of alternative political parties. It’s not my job to promote your message.

My OPINION is that very hard-line individuals like yourself don’t really (to steal a phrase from Tim West) “do politics” very well. You sound lik you fit into the group of people who like to scream at potential voters to read the Constitution, tell them they’re idiots, calling the US a fascist state, and then ramble on about how you don’t recognize “artifical” ZIP codes or something.

My point on the Russo movie is that the title will not draw in the right kind of people to see the movie. It makes it a less effective tool for recruitment. Then again, the movie might include a lot of conspiracy theory stuff… I haven’t seen it yet, so it’s hard for me to judge. Maybe the title fits the movie perfectly, and the movie itself is just too out there to do any good.

If you have done the home work, read the Federal Regulations as well as the preambles and the Consitition, IRS code, US code, Court cases as well as the federal register, The Federal Reserve Act . And you believe in right and wrong instead of a lefty liberal or righty tightwad then you might have a clue whats going on. Because if you have not done all that or if you dont know what a preamble is then you dont know what your talking about. The title of Aaron Russo film is what he wanted it to be and at least he had the guts to do something other than complaining. And if you have done you home work you would understand that what this government is doing is way past Fascism!
