As far as being an Engineer, it should be pointed out that he was responsible for facilities as opposed to being a Professional Engineer. On a personal level, I found him to be abrasive and condescending to others. I doubt that he would have anything to offer in this position. I can tell you I never heard of Olivier while living there until I was briefly involved with the LP starting around 2000. Even then, I doubt I would have ever known Bellflower had a Libertarian mayor (especially since local races in California are non-partisan) had it not been for the LP's internal candidate publicity, and there was very little then or now to indicate any trace of Libertarian influence in the town.
