Georgia Libertarians Going Strong!
Aside from Texas, I think the Georgia LP is going to be the best chance for some headline-making results on election night.
Zogby has a poll out showing Libertarian gubernatorial candidate Garrett Hayes doing quite well with 8.1% of the vote. His share of the vote might actually force a run-off in the state.
Plus a strong candidate in the race for Lt. Governor – Allen Buckley.
And Jack Cashin for Agriculture Commissioner…
They also have a strong candidate for Superintendent of Schools.
Cashin was the party’s candidate for U.S. Senate in 1996 winning just shy of 4% of the vote… and he won better than 3% of the vote for governor in 1998. Buckley was the party’s U.S. Senate candidate in 2004, Hayes was the gubernatorial candidate in 2002.

No way Hayes will get that much of the vote.

thats the most professional vid I’ve seen coming from a LP campaign yet. Edited for TV, a great ad. More of that, please.

Yeah, that was a really strong video. Whoever did it needs to hire out their services to other campaigns.

Certain Libertarians running for the US House will also do well, because they are getting large donations from a group of disgruntled Goldwater Republicans who want to send a message to the Republican Party about spending.

Nice post. Great find on the video. I guess at the very least the large number of candidates in Georgia is beneficial to getting the party message out there. Bob Barr doesn’t hurt either…

The Guy (James Bell) who made this video also made another great ad for Libertarian Kevin Cherry go watch it at www.cherryforpsc.com

You know the Georgia Libertarian Party has gone through numerous waves over the years of “having great election results and influence in George politics.” They GA LP was super strong in the early 1990s with Jim Hudson’s Senate Campaign.
Still, after all this success they’ve failed to elect a single state legislator, and their top elected official, a County Executive, just switched to the Republican Party.
The Georgia Republican Liberty Caucus is on an upswing too, but you don’t hear about that on Libertarian Party boards.

Hey Eric you should see the press we are getting here in georgia tonight.Garrett Hayes was just on the local NBC channel. They are calling him the X factor. I keep looking for a RLC guy but I did not see him.I am sure he is at home planning on how to track down Garrett and get him to convert to your side. If you RLC guys would spend more time thinking about freedom then the destroying the Libertarian party we would all be better off. MYRIH

I was encouraged to read that in the latest Zogby Wall Street Journal poll, the Libertarian Party’s candidate, Garrett Michael Hayes is pulling 8% for Governor of Georgia. I just sent him a contribution to add fuel to the flame of Liberty! Check out his website: http://www.hayesforgovernor.com

I read Buckley’s campaign website.
Clearly, Buckley’s in the wrong party. He belongs in the Constitution Party. While they’re having “great electoral success” running conservatives, can somebody in the Georgia LP see to it that Georgia nominates libertarians to run on the LP line . . . instead?
