Ed McGarr in Winnable Utah House Race

In addition to the campaign of Rick Jore in Montana, the Constitution Party has another really attractive state house race. This one is in Utah’s 58th district and features an extremely viable candidate campaigning with the incumbent’s endorsement.

The follow email is appeal for support sent out by the national party…

An historic opportunity has arisen for the Constitution Party to win an election for a state legislative seat in Utah’s 58th district.

Ed McGarr, our party’s nominee, is a wonderful candidate, and he’s running an outstanding campaign. That is not, however, what makes this race so special or what makes this opportunity so unique. We have many outstanding candidates running under the Constitution Party banner all across the country!

Here, briefly, is what makes this such a magnificent opportunity for the Constitution Party:

1. The incumbent conservative Republican, Representative James A. Ferrin, was defeated in the republican primary, by only 127 votes, by a candidate who is plagued with serious questions concerning his financial dealings and who faces a substantial conflict of interest situation if he were to be elected to the legislature.

2. Representative Ferrin has strongly endorsed our nominee, Ed McGarr, and has publicly stated that Ed McGarr is “clearly the better candidate” in the race!

3. There is no Democrat candidate in this race. 4. Sensing this to be a golden opportunity for the Constitution Party, Ed McGarr and his family have contributed a significant amount of their own money to his campaign, thus giving him a serious chance to win. Other individuals, including a prominent member of our National Executive Committee, have also made generous contributions to the McGarr campaign.

5. As a result, Ed McGarr has run a very competitive campaign. He has been able to put out direct mailings to most of the households in his district; he has been able to place signs throughout the district and he is starting to run radio commercials.

Ed McGarr can win this election, but now, as he faces the home stretch, he needs our help: to assure that his radio commercials can stay on the air; to get his last crucial mailing out to every voter in the district; and to marshal the resources he needs to get out the vote on Election Day.

Please make a home-stretch contribution to Ed McGarr right now.

Ed McGarr has “put his money where his mouth is,” and now it is time for all of us to do our part to put this great American and constitutionalist in the Utah House of Representatives! Please help Ed with a generous contribution now.

You can find out much more about this great candidate and his campaign on his campaign website. You will also find out how you can contribute right away to help Ed during these last crucial days of the campaign. If you would rather not make an on-line contribution, please mail your most generous possible contribution to:

I’ll be one extremely happy camper if one our guys pulls off a win. How sweet the taste a victory would be; even if its just one!! A little redemption would also go a long way, too. For those of you who know what I’m talking about…well then, you know what I am talking about.

  6. RCAIP Says:

Alright, alright, I’m going through a little “Brain Zoink” right now- please tell.

  7. RCAIP Says:

Let me guess, is this about the state disaffiliations?

Oh please! The CP is doing BETTER without those wackos in the Party, we actually are in a good position of electing people to office then in 2004. And we’re already reorganized in 4 states that left.

We don’t need redemption, we need practical common sense to guide us to Victory.

  8. Chris Campbell Says:

Go Ed, prayers and well wishes for you (I have talked to some that have apparently sent in some $$ for you)

  9. Hammer of Truth » There’s still time for Sime Says:

[...] The Green Party is much younger, yet already has at least one elected state legislator, with one more expected tomorrow. The Constitution Party is also likely to win one or two state seats. Additionally, the Progressive Party is even expected to win five or six seats. [...]
