Today is the BIG DAY!
Well, this is it. Today is the day we find out if Bob Smither or Michael Badnarik will be elected to Congress… and how well the Greens fare in Maine and Illinois.
Will any parties gain new state house seats?
Rick Jore, Rex Bell, Max Linn, Andrew Halcro, Pat LaMarche… (I’ll spare you the “we didn’t start the fire” joke.)
But seriously, this is it. All your questions will be answered. 
For me this is going to be a crazy day of sign waving, hand shaking, and last minute working of the polls. For the last 2 months I’ve been fighting an increasingly intense battle for a seat on the Duval County Soil and Water Conservation Board. These “little” local races are a heck of a lot harder than they look.
But I’m optimistic. We have signs everywhere, a few small newspaper ads, literature, and even a small radio campaign. Direct mail postcards… volunteers doing sign waving… and all the usual stuff that goes with a race like this.
If you’re interested in tracking the results, our local Supervisor of Elections office has a neat interface. It kind of looks like a tiny Presidential race map with 285 little states that will be automatically colored in on election night.
Anyway, that’s why I’ve been so busy and my posts on here have been limited. But I will try to check in once or twice tomorrow with updates, and certainly a full recap as we get into Wednesday and Thursday and all the results become clear.
I’ll post a handful of my own predicitions later on today… just for fun, no one get upset.
And then, most exciting of all… at midnight tomorrow night the Presidential election season kicks into gear for real. Amazing how it never ends.

Good luck, Austin! I’m voting for you today. You’ve run a really good campaign—- your signs are literally everywhere in Duval County.
Here’s my prediction; Austin Cassidy wins with 54% of the vote!

It looks like it’s going to be a hell of a day. I’m usually one of the first three voters at my polling place—this morning I got there 15 minutes before it opened and was still voter #12. The line was snaking out the building by the time I left.
I expect high turnout to be the rule around the country.

I saw somewhere there is a slight chance that a Green could win CA-28 from a safe Democrat with a token opposition Republican. Take it with a grain of salt.
