KC is in the middle of the country. So like you Cody there are others who cannot afford to travel but might be able to if it is in a more central location.. If it is in Arizona then only the more well to do members will make the trip. I understand the lack of funds. I just finished Cancer treatments and went back to work so I know lack of money.

Trent,

I agree Trent. However, if Mr. Corsi is the candidate than I'll root for him.

As for our interest, we need to target political leadership and competency in our state. There is plenty of opportunity there, and I don't think the ground is to hard. If we could some how interest just one heavy-hitter I think it would afford us so many possibilities. Do you have anyone in particular in mind? (You don't have to answer here).

On another note; what do you think of Jindal? I looked up his voting record and he looks pretty solid to me. I think he might have it locked up.

Jason,

Corsi isn't the frontrunner. It is rumored Alan Keyes is going to jump ship too. Alot of the party-leaders really like Alan Keyes. If he can tell us why he didnt leave the GOP sooner, how he intends to build the party, and assure us of his stances on a few minor issues...then he'll be a lock.
As for the Poll onlne, it includes alot of "we wish"'s
Im rooting for a congressman to switch over too, but realistically--until we poll pretty well for the president, or get the kind of name recognition the Greens/Libs have...that wont happen. And maybe not even then.

Even a Former Congressman would do alot to advance our cause, perhaps we should look into some Jason?

=I'm going for Phoenix because I would be able to attend.

As outspoken as I am, I cannot afford to travel by plane or train to the national meetings back east. I'd prefer something much closer.

(I wasn't able to attend Boise since being on Family Leave, I have less money coming in and have to maintain a strict buget. Sorry Trent)

JR,

I undertand and agree with you. However, with the absence of other noteable candidates coming forward thus far, Mr. Corsi gives us a name, money, and at least some recognition. I will assume here that the leaders are using this same logic and will make their decision to nominate him that much easier. Thats what I am saying. Despite the polls, he already looks like the front-runner, the only runner at this time. Hey maybe the man has a trick up his sleeve, I hope so. I'm not totally hating here. I just had big expectations for the '08 election. If he is chosen I hope he can deliver.

Trent,

I agree that there is still time for someone to sweep us off our feet. As a matter of fact, I betting on it. I'm just saying, and I could very well be wrong here, Mr. Corsi in spite of all his accomplishments and talents, I don't think is going to get us over that hump. We are in desperate need of a political warrior; a champion with noted accomplishments, sound ideals, clear vison, and proven supporters. Shooting for the stars? Probably. I understand that this scenerio proves to be practically impossible because most of our choices are currently holding on to their power: the GOP.

Man, I sound overly critical here but, I am afraid he will be nothing more than a name. Another sacrificial lamb, a political martyr who chose principle over politics; the little guy who stood up to the powers of corruption and stood his ground. All this sounds romantic but there has to come a time when we grow dissatisfied with these moral victories and really take the opportunity to strike for the jugular. Really disrupt the establishment. However, I understand that we can not exactly kidnap our favorite candidate and make him speak for us. Hopefully as you said, there is still time for another individual to come forward. Who knows.

Jason -

re: "I am a little dissapointed in this selection from the CP and slightly troubled that he was our only choice."

Corsi is being "drafted" - or endorsed - by General Jones. As far as I know, that is the only support Corsi has had to this point (see the polls where his numbers are insignificant.) One would suppose General Jones would like to have all these issues ironed out too before plowing on, so as far as anyone knows, even that support could dry up. In short, a "selection" by the CP at large has most definitley not been made at this point, any more than have the Republicans, Libertarians, or anyone else made their own "selections".

"On Catholics and the Pope
CORSI: Maybe while he’s there he can tell the UN what he’s going to do about the sexual crimes committed by “priests” in his “Church” during his tenure. Or, maybe that’s the connection—boy buggering in both Islam and Catholicism is okay with the Pope as long as it isn’t reported by the liberal press. (03/03/2003)
CORSI: So this is what the last days of the Catholic Church are going to look like. Buggering boys undermines the moral base and the laywers rip the gold off the Vatican altars. We may get one more Pope, when this senile one dies, but that’s probably about it. (12/16/2002)"

I don't know if the Catholic Church is really going to end soon, but other than that Corsi is dead on right here.

Well,

To tell the truth Cody, im also kind of hoping for Phoenix. Not because I think it is a good location--but because they are petitioning there now, and if they DON'T succeed, then it will be held in KC. So...obviously im hoping they succeed.

Jason,

Im not surprised. Im not a big fan of Islam either. I don't have a problem with one of my neighbors, who is a moderate Islamist who believes we can all live peacefully. Its the radicals that I can't stand. However, that stands for Christianity, Hinduism, and Paganism. The fact is, unlike those religions, Radicals within Islam have control.
As for the candidate selection--You have to remember that it is early yet. We are still more than a year from convention. And if a guy declared for our nomination as little as 5 months before the convention, he could still get the nod. Hell, all he's got to do is show up to the convention and wow us. It isn't too late yet.
I will also say that this is a far better selection than we had last year AT the convention. Alan Keyes:A former ambassador, Jerome Corsi:an acclaimed author, and possibly some others.

Cody- that is selfish of you. LOL Are joking aside it really should be in the most central location as possible. If it is in Phoenix then a lot of the smaller state affiliates will not have much or any representation. All the money people are on the coasts. We have catered to them long enough. Time to be practical. Put it in Iowa or Arkansas if you must but at least respect the entire party and not just the West and East coast affiliates. Thats my 2 cents for what it is worth ( 2 cents).

Well I will say this: I agree whole heartedly with his opinion on Islam. For those who will faint after they read this, I say to you, when you wake up, go check out a book on the Koran and Islam and what they teach: Jihad, Spoils of War, Spread by the Sword ect. There are plenty of converted Arabs and moderate Muslims who speak out against Islam, and go through great lengths to show what is really taught inside that religion. Of course they now live in America or some where in Europe to keep from getting their heads hacked off by their peacefull brethern.

As for Corsi as a candidate; I would not support him if he even pooped golden eggs. Its not because of any of this that he has supposedly stated. I see him as a political-no-count with no experience and no political credibility. I am a little dissapointed in this selection from the CP and slightly troubled that he was our only choice. Our only chance at garnering 3 - 5% of the votes was with one someone who was already established nationally, politically, financially, and actively supported in most states. I think with our current selection we failed to make any of this reality. Of course, some of the reason behind this was that we were unable to attract our candidate and appeal to him to cross over. All around, and either way, its all very disappointing in my eyes.

Chris,

I was actually pushing people to ask for Kansas City at the Boise meeting, it is both more central, and more of a hot-spot because of the NAU thing.

National will be at KC because everybody loves Missouri. LOL Plus what better place then the spot that has the NAFTA port and all sorts of foreign soil. Yeah!!!!!!!! kC is central Phoenix is way to far. For those East of the River. SO lets hear it for KC.

I would not vote nor support Corsi. We must keep the focus on winnable races and local recruitment.
