Campaign 2008 & the War on Drugs
A criminal defense lawyer in Kaufman County, Texas (southeast of Dallas) is openly calling for an end to the War on Drugs, supports Ron Paul for president, and is openly Libertarian on many issues. Here’s hoping the Libertarian Party in Texas contacts this guy about a statewide campaign of some sort.

I’m glad he is endorsing Ron Paul.

Umm, it looks like he admits to abusing his authority at traffic stops and to possibly driving drunk and getting away with it. And then he’s now on probation? I dunno about him as a viable candidate for anything with that track record.

True.

You are simplifying/missing his points.

If he had Root’s money, then there’d be an issue, but simply getting him to help the LP secure ballot access past 2008 would be useful. Seriously, how many Libertarian lawyers are there in Texas? Not too many willing to put their names on the ballot line…

I am on probation- for speeding.
As for abusing my authority- I thought citizens should know there is a system that treats some different than others. I never asked to be let go with a warning, but it happened.
I have never had a DWI.

I tried and clarify my position with some editing.
I never asked an officer for special treatment at a traffic stop.
