Not to sound like a PBS pledge drive, but we’ve got 2 unsold spots for the month of June. They’re going at $35 each, which is really pretty cheap. I’d like to see if I can find sponsors for both of these slots in the next day or two.
As such, I’ll throw in [...]

Doug Burlison, a newly elected Libertarian City Councilman in Springfield, Missouri, is proposing penalties for businesses that hire illegal immigrants. Thanks to Tom Knapp for the tip on this article. Note that of the article’s four comment responses, three of them are supportive of Councilman Burlison’s proposal. Though I’m sure this [...]

We were made aware of this latest development by a comment poster (thanks Gadsden member!):
My vision of LibertyMix and a reborn Hammer of Truth was never just another ho-hum echo chamber blog or forum. My vision was always massive, and those kinds of ideas take time to become reality.
I’m sorry things have taken so long. [...]

Jerome Corsi was interviewed today on Mark Dankof’s radio show. Most of the interview concerned the proposed North American Union, the Security and Prosperity Partnership, and illegal alien invasion. However, at the beginning of the third hour Dr. Corsi discussed the Constitution Party, his presidential campaign, and what we could expect from a [...]

About a month ago, I had a cordial conversation/debate with a higher-level Constitution Party of Texas official in regards to the CP platform and my city council campaign. I’m a big idea person. I’m a dreamer of sorts I guess you could say (blame that on Rich Dad, Poor Dad).
So some of my economic development [...]

I’m surprised none of the ThirdPartyWatchers haven’t picked up on this stuff yet (then again, maybe it’s the reporter in me that can hunt down news left and right):
Joe Klein of TIME Magazine (the issue with Al Gore on its cover) says libertarian Congressman Ron Paul’s ideas are “brilliant…” and “weird.”
The column is posted here.
Then [...]

The Constitution Party of West Virginia recently passed the following resolution:
Whereas, the West Virginia Family Foundation has filed a legal challenge against West Virginia ’s new table games law and,
Whereas, the Foundation argues that voters did not mean to allow casinos in West Virginia when they voted in 1984 to amend the state constitution and [...]

Just wanted to “give a shout out” err… a plug… to a side project that myself and a few friends have started. It’s a multi-author, multi-topic blog called Mondito that has a much lighter tone than most of the other stuff I’ve been involved in. Kind of a mixture of talk about politics, [...]

. . . Weighing in on the discussion was Daniel Imperato, a libertarian, and a 2008 Presidential Candidate.
Imperato stated, “first of all, I find it interesting that Giuliani took such offense to Ron Paul’s comment when he needed to look no further than himself. Why didn’t Giuliani protect the city after the 1993 bombings?”
The [...]

History has not been kind to third party candidates.
The last third party candidate to successfully turn a party into a political force: Abraham Lincoln, who was elected president as a Republican in 1860.
Since then third party candidates have made small strides.
Vermont resident Bernie Sanders was elected to the U.S. Senate as a Democratic Socialist in [...]

Howard Phillips, the Constitution Party’s presidential candidate in 1992, ‘96, and 2000, recently interviewed Jerome Corsi, whose name has been floated as a possible Constitution Party presidential candidate in ‘08. The subject of the interview is the proposed North American Union.

This is an interesting opinion piece from Carl Milsted Jr. from over on Free Market News…
America needs a real libertarian party – one which gets freedom-lovers elected to partisan offices. Unfortunately, the existing Libertarian Party was set up for different purposes: to educate the public about a very narrow and radical brand of libertarianism, to [...]

I previously interviewed Dave Roberts, an independent challenging Mel Martinez for his senate seat:

Dave recently sent out an email that included the following:
I have just met with the Florida Leader of the Constitution Party, a Party built upon the principles of returning to a Constitutional form of Government. I have just registered to become a [...]

Some interesting quotes from James Dobson in this recent article:
Dobson wrote that Giuliani’s support for abortion rights and civil unions for homosexuals, as well as the former mayor’s two divorces, were a deal-breaker for him. “(In a) choice between him and Senators Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama, I will either cast my ballot for [...]

After the recent Republican debate most media outlets have taken an opportunity to knock on Ron Paul, but one person at CNN has come to his defense.
While I’m not backing Ron Paul, I certainly do enjoy a voice of partial reason inside a room full of Republicans.
If you can’t get to the link above, the [...]

Justin Raimondo of Antiwar.com writes:
Make no mistake about it – Bloomberg’s billions in partnership with Hagel’s biography and crustily independent views – especially about the Iraq war – could do a lot more than merely shake the political landscape. If Ron Paul is the peace party’s David up against a GOP Goliath, then the Bloomberg-Hagel [...]

A generic third-party presidential candidate emphasizing border security would tie a Democratic candidate and defeat a Republican, according to a new poll.
The Rasmussen Reports national survey asked respondents how they would vote if “a third party candidate ran in 2008 and promised to build a barrier along the Mexican border and make enforcement of immigration [...]

The 2008 congressional elections may be more than 18 months away, but U.S. Rep. Mark Kirk already has one challenger.
The founder of the Arlington Heights chapter of the Green Party announced Wednesday he will challenge Highland Park Republican Kirk, the 10th Congressional District incumbent.
