From my EllisCountyObserver.com blog:
Three sitting Ellis County Republican Party Executive Committee members have indicated to me that they have voted for Libertarian Party candidates as recent as last fall. This really comes as no surprise. A couple of former exec. committee members admitted to voting for Libertarians over Democrats when there were “RINOs on the [...]

From Eric Dondero’s Mainstream Libertarian news report comes this:
Looks like I’ve discovered a new elected Libertarian in the State of California. I don’t believe he’s on any lists yet.
I had been doing some research on the smoking ban issue, and came across his designation as a “libertarian.” Notice the small ‘l’. I [...]

Redpath, the Libertarian Party national chair, was on Dallas’ KLIF 570 AM today, and I’ve gotta hand it to the guy: of all of the Libertarians I’ve heard on the radio—Redpath steals the show. He’s got more “policy wonk” in his voice than utter enthusiasm, but that’s ok…he did great in discussing the 18% increase [...]

One June 30th Ben Miller hosted a multi-party presidential debate with Jon Greenspon (New American Independent), Don Grundmann (Constitution), Christine Smith (Libertarian) and Richard Smith (Republican). I haven’t listened to the entire program yet, but the topics featured during what I’ve listened to thus far include Iraq, the “war on terror,” Osama bin Laden, [...]

Looks like “retired” anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan is about to launch an independent Congressional bid against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Sheehan has picked a tough race for herself. After winning a narrow victory in a 1987 special election, Pelosi has been re-elected to Congress ten times, never falling below 75% of the vote in any [...]

Ballot Access News
On July 2, Zogby Polls released a poll that asked voters if they are happy with a system in which only two parties seem to be allowed to exist. 67% say they are dissatisfied with that system. 31% say they are satisfied. Only 3% were undecided. The poll was taken June 19-21 and [...]

The Democrats and Republicans will receive no time in the spotlight in FYI today. Today is all about those parties you see on the voting ballot, but will hear or see almost nothing about until stepping into the voting booth.
The four parties listed here are four that had presidential candidates on the Iowa [...]

Two nights ago on CNN’s Larry King Live, Al Gore was talking about his Live Earth concerts, among other things. Larry King brought up the subject of Michael Bloomberg. Al Gore’s response was kind of confusing.
Well, I like Mike Bloomberg. And I like his—what he’s said and what he’s done on the climate crisis. But [...]

Straight from the LP front-runner’s mouth (er, e-mail):
First of all, my wealth is not an issue… or a requirement for political office. Anyone bringing it up is trying to divert attention from the real issues- where I stand on important issues to America’s future…and the fact that I’m the most electable LP candidate ever. And [...]

Capitalist Dove has a nice post that examines just how much “millionaire Republican” turned “million Libertarian” Wayne Allyn Root is actually worth.
Here’s a snippit…
How does Wayne Allyn Root compare? Well, his company, Winning Edge International, is a public company, so there is no dispute as to its value. Its current market value is $1.25 million [...]

Seriously, did the Libertarian Party, Ron Paul groups, and others get hijacked by the 9/11 Truth movement? It’s starting to appear that way.
And Tuesday’s Libertarian Politics Live! will be centered on just that very thing: Does the 9/11 Truth movement and its supporters negatively impact (a) Libertarian politics and (b) Ron Paul’s campaign? One full [...]

Looks like Bloomberg is holding steady in most polls at between 15 and 20%. For example, here’s one from New Jersey that shows Bloomberg with 18% assuming a 3-way race with Giuliani and Clinton.
From Ballot Access News…
On July 5, Quinnipiac University Polls released a New Jersey poll for the presidential general election. It compares [...]

Libertarian Politics Live! Thursday was an interesting discussion. Eric Dondero, of course, was touting Rudy and Rudy’s appeal to libertarians. But what about John McCain? Ali Akbar was the guest – he’s a McCain staffer from Texas. Check it out.

There are all sorts of reports bouncing around about Ron Paul’s fundraising numbers for the second quarter. Some as high as $5 million, others saying $1.5 million or even less.
Free Market News has the following. It’s difficult to tell if they mean $5 million since the start of the campaign or just in [...]

If you thought fighting for control of the Reform Party was bad! I just got this email tip from Seth Hinshaw…
I just received word from Leroy Pletten, Secretary of the Prohibition Party National Committee, that the judge has scheduled the trial to determine the “true” Prohibition National Committee. The trial will begin at [...]

From Mr. Odom:
Twenty year United States Coast Guard Veteran, and proud member of the Constitution Party’s National Veteran Coalition, John Wagner, of Pocomoke, Maryland will spearhead the effort organize a new Constitution Party organization in Maryland and launch the drive to qualify the new Constitution Party organization for the ballot in that state. Wagner, [...]

A very funny, if recycled, piece from this week’s issue of The Onion…
Republicans, Democrats Unite In Good Laugh Over Reform Party
WASHINGTON, DC—In a rare moment of bipartisan unity, lawmakers on both sides of the aisle fondly recalled the Reform Party Tuesday. “Remember ‘Ross For Boss’?” Sen. Bill Frist (R-TN) said, laughing uncontrollably at the memory [...]
