Clymer attends Counsel for National Policy Meeting
The meeting of about 50 leaders, including Focus on the Family’s James Dobson, the Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins and former presidential candidate Gary Bauer, who called in by phone, took place at the Grand America Hotel during a gathering of the Council for National Policy, a powerful shadow group of mostly religious conservatives. James Clymer, the chairman of the U.S. Constitution Party, was also present at the meeting, according to a person familiar with the proceedings.“The conclusion was that if there is a pro-abortion nominee they will consider working with a third party,” said the person, who spoke to Salon on the condition of anonymity. The private meeting was not a part of the official CNP schedule, which is itself a closely held secret . . .

That is very interesting news…Now the question remains, can they decide on which Party to back.
September 30th, 2007 at 9:13 pm
Jason
They can’t. They support for a third party only help for the democrats.
I don’t know why they can stand behind Mr. Ron Paul now. Give him a support by a big organisation can be a major help. If republicans don’t nominate him,the organisation still can stand behind who ever they want.
God Bless

What interesting about this is that in the past they never would have invited Clymer or have anything to do with the CP. In fact, the Christian Coalition would not allow Mike Perotuka to be included in their voting guides in 2004.
Obviously their scared that Rudy will be the GOP nominee and want a third party option which is why they invited Clymer to their little group. The intent is not so much to support the CP but just to scare the GOP into staying away from Guliani. Maybe it will work, who knows. There’s a lot of using each going on here, but it winds up giving a lot of credibility to the CP in the end.

Sean, short and sweet—I agree with your take.
October 1st, 2007 at 12:02 pm
Thanks Jason. Jim’s got to be careful because it’s obvious these so-called religious conservatives want to use him to scare the GOP into voting for someone other than Guliani. He’s got to used them instead to advance the CP among as an option to their voting bloc which hasn’t been true in the past. If you’re going to get used, make sure you benfit from it.

Jason,
See—dont be so quick to judge. Clymer is obviously getting involved here.
And i Guiliani gets the Republican nomination—the CP can count on a big name.

I read on the New York Times Website that Daniel Imperato is the candidate that the Christians are looking to support.

=Now I understand why after all these years.

Sean,
Howard Phillips is a CNP member, or at least he has been in the past. Michael Peroutka spoke at one of their meetings in ‘04 and I believe he is or has been a member also.

I wonder if the “religious right” has heard of the CP compromise on life?

Whittman,
Why dont you let them know deary. Then let them know that you wish you couldnt vote.
October 2nd, 2007 at 4:57 pm
Angela,
Are you still “lording yourself over men”. Politics and opinions have no place with a Christian lady such as yourself.
Tell me Angela, was your group invited? Actually don’t address me personally, speak with one of your male members and have him respond.

“The meeting” Jim Clymer attended was, I am certain, the CNP meeting and not the other meeting with Dobson & Company.
October 6th, 2007 at 5:40 pm
No, Clymer attended THIS meeting too, in fact he was invited.
