Michael Kinsely has written an excellent essay for Time Magazine titled “Libertarians Rising.” In his piece he explains why he believes that whatever party successfully captures libertarian voters will dominate in the years to come.
This is also one of the more appealing and easier to digest explanations of libertarianism as a philosophy…
To oversimplify: Democrats [...]

One of the more unique candidacies is from Jim Giles, an independent in the race for Mississippi’s 3rd Congressional District next year. Giles is a white supremecist; “Working for Whites” is his slogan.

From Politics1.com:
“Congressman Ron Paul, appearing on CNN’s Tucker, insisted he does not plan to make a third party run for President if he loses the GOP nomination race. “I have no intention of doing that. That is not a very attractive thing to do,” he said. The comment still leaves Paul some wiggle room. [...]

LewRockwell.com noticed something very interesting about Alan Keyes’ financial reports. It seems he is lumping this campaign in with his past bids and combining the debts somehow. Phillies 2008 reports raising over $3,000 last Quarter and then the candidate himself cut checks totaling an additional $20,000 to bring the total raised for the Phillies campaign up to more than $50,000 with $10,000 remaining in cash on hand.
The Imperato reports are, as usual, practically impossible to figure out. However it does appear [...]

The Third Quarter fundraising numbers are coming out now and it appears that Alan Keyes raised only about $23,000. The campaign spent a bit more than $10,000 of that. He had fewer than two dozen actual donors.
This is a pretty weak start for a candidate who raised over $15 million for his 2000 [...]

This Ron Paul piece aired several times over the weekend. It’s a good general introduction to his campaign for voters who may not have been paying attention.
