Watkins Abbitt Appears Headed for Re-Election
Watkins Abbitt, an Independent serving in the Virginia House of Delegates, appears to have been re-elected by a wide margin. With only 3% of the vote counted, Abbitt has a 72%-28% lead over Democrat Connie Brennan.

Abbitt is one of three Independents in the Virginia House. Another, Katherine Waddell, is trailing her Republican opponant by 20% with almost half of the votes counted in that race.
There are no results yet in the third Independent candidate’s bid for re-election.
