Yay! Everyone gets’ a former member of Congress to run as their presidential and vp candidates. McKinney for the GP, Perhaps Barr for the LP? Perhaps this Stockman fellow, and of course the mystery former congressman, for the CP?

Stockman would be noteworthy to Ron Paul fans as the man who introduced something called the 2nd Amendment Reaffirmation Act of 1995, probably the boldest pro-gun proposal of the 1990s. It was also termed the “Philip Russell Coleman Memorial Act” or something to that effect. Obviously the Act didn’t pass but Dr. Paul reintroduced versions of it subsequently, along with his own 2nd Amendment Restoration Act. Stockman is a hero to pro-gun Texans, but I have no idea of his position on the war. Petrouka donated money to one of his old campaigns though. He should link up with Adask in some way and participate in Texas politics again, forget about the national ticket!

To be honest Red, I create some of it. I contacted Rep. Stockman myself.

Other than that, its being plugged in. I contact a lot of people on a regular basis and pretty much luck out on some stuff. =)

Trent, do you mean the 1994 Republican Revolution? The Reagan era conservatives tend to still have the Cold War mentallity. It is mostly those with significant exposure to Buchananism that manage to get foreign policy right.

You don’t have to confirm or deny this but I am going to throw out the only names I can think of as far as former congressmen who might be interested.
LeBoutillier, Dornan, and Dannemeyer although the last two are pretty old at this point.

Many of the Reagan-Revolution Congressman who were NOT in Congress during Iraq remain staunchly paleoconservative and thus staunchly non-interventionist. I agree that we shouldnt assume, nonetheless—let’s hope he joins the party.

I agree that Stockman would not be as strong of a candidate as Judge Moore or some others, but just having a “Rep.” or “Former Congressman” by his name is enough to significantly boost media, rally attendance, and fundraising abilities.
