Utah Libertarians nominate a colorful gubernatorial candidate
From Salt Lake City’s Fox 13: “Most Utahns know Dell Schanze as “Super Dell,” the guy in those crazy computer ads. But Schanze has another title, Gubernational candidate for the Libertarian party. Last month Schanze filed for governor and Saturday he found a party to back him. Fox 13’s Arikka Von has the story.”

Will the PC Laptops guy be his running mate?

Super Dell’s commercials were much stranger than anything you’ll see on the PC Laptops site (and his late night infomercials where stranger still). Unfortunately, I can’t find any of the really strange joint ads the two stores had.
In PC Laptops defense, I have heard good things about them.

“Embarrass the Party”??
There were 20 people for their state convention in a room that looked like it could hold 60. And this blared all over Salt Lake City TV.
The UT LP couldn’t have found 10 more people somewheres, maybe bring their wives and girlfriends or kids, just so it wouldn’t look so pathetically bad to the media?
And they’re worried about this Schanze guy?

The Utah CP is running over 50 candidates this year.

At least this guy has really high recognition. Everyone knows him for his commercials, not his scandals.

Don Lake: And then there is the still awaited minutes of the 2007 [John ‘Nazi’ Blare cabal] of the Reform Party USA ‘National’ Convention. Three visitors and a speaker phone in John Bambey’s Sacramento condo. Cards any one?

Can someone get me a contact number for Schanze? Like to get him on Libertarian Politics Live. Utah LP has no contact phone number for media inquiries or anything.

“And look at you! You’re mocking, and you’re smiling! That’s exactly what they did when they crucified Jesus Christ!”—This guy is hilarious. I hope he raises enough money to put TV ads up, and I hope they are just as bizarre as the Totally Awesome Computer ads.

If Dondero is right, a turnout of 20 people in a state running 50 candidates is pathetic. The Cal LP convention this year had a really low turnout too.
Maybe that could be explained by RP still being in the race, but the Utah convention can’t be. On the other hand, the Denver convention hotel is sold out so somebody must be planning to go.

Just a note of clarification. Both the Utah Constitution Party and the Libertarian Party held their conventions the same day. To my knowledge no coverage was given to the CP.
The Libertarian Party has 13 candidates state wide. The Constitution Party has 57. Attendance at the Constitution Party was just a tad over 180 people representing 19 of Utah’s 29 countiies. Fifteen delegates were elected to attend the national convention in Kansas City this week. With both parties having there convention the same day, the confusion is understandable.

The LP isn’t running 50 candidates in Utah. The CP is.

What would Patton say?
“There is a great deal of talk about loyalty from the bottom to the top. Loyalty from the top down is even more necessary and is much less prevalent. One of the most frequently noted characteristics of great men who have remained great is loyalty to their subordinates.”

Dumbdero obviously wants him to lose.

Why would the media bother? There is no difference between the GOP and the CP. They both advocate theocratic dictatorship.
April 21st, 2008 at 9:54 pm
Yes, this is why the CP is going to end up supporting the obama Revolution. For libertarians, it depends on which direction to go. As for Shanze, I would also like to contact him, as he might be a good backer for the Fringe Alliance Electoral Reform/Constitutional Amendments strategy to abolish the electoral college, institute majority runoffs for presidential and gubernatorial elections, and proportional representations for legislative elections.
Please pray for the pope and please pray for Barack Obama.
