"Stop using the faux phrase “non-intervention,” and have the courage of your convictions. Admit, you wish to Surrender to Islamic Radicalism worldwide. You’re perfectly fine with Sharia Law being instituted in the United States."

Are you serious? You honestly see minding our own business as a surrender to the terrorists? You honestly think that the antiwar crowd (more than half the United States, most of the LP, the GP, and the CP) would be fine with the Sharia Law being instituted?

What are you smoking? Must be good stuff.

"Of course, our audience here should note that Stefan is a Pro-Lifer. So, his socially conservative views are consistent with Islamic Fundamentalism’s anti-Sex, anti-Women’s Rights views. So, one shouldn’t be surprised."

*face palms*

You could offer a far better critical support of the War on Terror from a libertarian perspective by not being such an idiot. Non-interventionism is not surrender, and principled pro-lifers are not all social conservatives (and not all social conservatives would support anything near Islam law). It's hard to take you seriously.

Eric,

If by "much fanfare" you mean a press release and one radio appearance, well, I guess you don't have a very good understanding of what fanfare involves.

We accomplished some nice things. Among other things, so far as I know we were the first political organization to ever successfully hold a complete soup-to-nuts national convention entirely online -- national committee elections, bylaws adoption and amendments, program, etc. That was a valuable experience for me personally to organize, and I may eventually have occasion to use said experience, politically or professionally, again.

I could be wrong, but in my opinion we also brought together some groups that are now, or soon will be, factors of considerable importance in the LP.

In my opinion it all came to nought as an organization in itself in the end, but I may be wrong -- other people are working on it now and maybe their chances are better than I believe.

In any case, I don't have nearly as much of a personal investment in touting my resume as you do.

Your entire assessment of self-worth seems to revolve around "I did X back in 1980, and Y in 1990, and Z in 1996 -- oh, bow down to me!"

I do things. I do them as well as I can do them, which is sometimes well and sometimes not so well. Some of them work out well, some don't. When I'm done with those things I move on to other things instead of daydreaming about what I did before and expecting everyone to bring me cookies and milk and kiss my feet.

Like Steve Jobs says, "the journey is the reward." When I was a child, I lovingly mounted my medals and ribbons and had the hash marks sewn on my sleeve. Then I grew up and realized that life is about what I'm doing, not what I already did.

Ahh geez, Tom. And your Boston Tea Party deal was launched with such bravado and fanfare. Sorry to hear that three years later it's nothing more than a few guys hanging out together at a hospitality suite.

Who knows, maybe they can even chip in and get a ready-made banner from Kinko's to hang up at the suite right before the convention.

Long Live the Boston Tea Party!!

Sorry to dissapoint you Devious Dave, but I'm still supporting Bob Barr and Wayne Root for the LP nomination. (Might could support Gravel and Jingozian, maybe?)

I'll only support McCain if Barr or Root fail to win the LP nomination.

And if McCain chooses some boring-ass conservative schmuck for his VP like Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota or Rob "Who?" Portman of Ohio, I'll just sit out the election altogether.

My predictions on numbers are pretty much right in-line with David Nolan's above. I think that Barr will win, but probably not on the first ballot unless Root either implodes in the debates or makes a surprise withdrawal.

I'm not quite sure what to expect in Denver, this will be the first time in 15+ years as a Life Member that I've made it to a national convention (thanks to interest in Barr). However, I have a sneaking suspicion that the Internet flamewars here aren't QUITE representative of those people who actually put down the cash for travel, lodging, and registration. May not be TOO far from the mark, though...

I'm still waiting for Rittberg to trot out his "Libertarians for McCain" cunard. He seems to be doing it gradually, but I'm sure the campaign will kick in full force really soon. Corey will probably come out of the woodwork for it and a few other irrelevant idiots.

I am glad we heard about Milstead's endorsement... it shows how irrelevant he truly is and tells me that my conclusions and hunches about him were true all along.

Like Jim, I have received Barr's email. It is just a plea for more money before he announces his candidacy. Perhaps Bob could enlighten us what there is "to accomplish" before the convention. Just donate more cash? If he does not run now, his credibility is stuffed for good. Bob, you are trying my patience with your prevarication.

"Also, Dumb Dildo seems obsessed with his malehood, which most of us girls know is a clear sign of erectile disfunction. At the risk of being rude, I must speculate that his Mexican whore experience has left him impotent and in desperate need for attention and other compensatory relief."
