Most of the people who know of and admire Barr are conservative Republicans. They love him for his role in the Clinton impeachment hearings, his support for DOMA, etc. Most other voters are either unaware of Mr. Barr, or actively dislike him. And his presumptive support base is very, very likely to scuttle back to the GOP on election day, believing that an ill-tempered fascist is preferable to a far-left socialist. Because, after all, McCain is a REPUBLICAN … blah, blah, blah.

So far we agree.

So maybe Ruwart would do better, because all those women who have been supporting Hillary will use their votes in November to send a message: We wanna vote for a WOMAN, and if the Demos won’t give us one, we’ll vote for another woman.

Why wouldn’t they vote for Cynthia McKinney then?

And if everyone whose life has been negatively impacted by the War on Drugs were to vote for Kubby, his vote total could dwarf either Barr’s or Ruwart’s.

That’s a tall order. I know many people whose lives have been negatively impacted by the WoD. Many of them would never consider voting for a Libertarian.

But I agree that there is definitely a potential market for our ideas there, and Kubby would be best at reaching it.

I have no functioning crystal ball to predict the future, But to flatly assert that Barr would do better than any other prospective Libertarian candidate is just untenable. He might; he might not.

By the sounds of this press conference (and reading the news reports), it seems like thats what theyre already doing. Nobody else wouldve received this much attention.

How much you ll want to bet that the LP delegates blow it in Denver and go with some Losertarian Badnarik clone like Kubby or Phillies.

7 million votes? Nah. We don’t need 7 million votes. Better to get our standard 367,274, plus the 50 or so in Guam.
