Now opposition for foreign and military aid to Germany and Japan is viewed as not part of the Pro-Defense Libertarian position. Curious? News Alert! Myself and other Pro-Defense Libertarians are concerned with the rise of Islamo-Fascism around the World, particularly in the Middle East and South Asia. I can't speak for all Pro-Defense Libertarians, but this Pro-Defense Libertarian has always been opposed to continuing aid to Germany and Japan. Better to divert those resources to Afghanistan and Iraq, (and Somalia and Sudan.) Though, maybe not. I note todays news all over the media, is that the War in Iraq is pretty much over and won. Al Qaeda has been soundly defeated. US Troops deaths for the month of May in Iraq are at an all-time low. So, maybe it's time to let the Iraqis handle things themselves, bringing the bulk of our Troops home, with a sufficient amount of back-up from us for a few years. Hmmn, this is rather funny. LOL-this was written by Barr's handlers-DUH You didn't realize that ! See the post above about listening to Barr on the Radio. Barr has never believed this before. I was within Barr's radio show's range also. He's a libertarian leaning conservative, PERIOD. You have what you have. Hopefully his handlers will continue to do the writing of press releases and stump speeches. The AP will probably block it from getting out to the masses however! Wonder if they could utilize Phillies media distribution system to help them get the word out ? It's time to turn the barrels toward the flyweight "empty suit" B.O. and creepy old, old "Insane" McSame. We accomplish NOTHING productive for liberty by attacking Barr/Root or Baldwin/Castle, now. Turn your heat on the enemy, the Ds and Rs. B.o. offers the failed socialist crap from the 20th century. Done that, IT DON'T WORK, it's part of our problem now. McSame wants to continue the current "neo-crap" that pads the military Industrial congressional complex. We've doing that. IT DON'T WORK... Mushrooms unite ! It would never have entered my mind that the Holy Spirit were "working" on either of them, frankly, never having confused Barr with St. Francis of Assisi or Baldwin with St. Therese of Liseaux. :-) Rudi,

It is such a load of shit to claim that the U.S. is defending these countries when everybody knows that the U.S. military establishment openly refer to Japan as merely an unsinkable aircraft carrier of the U.S. Navy. Has Barr ever called for the dismantling of this global offensive system before? Not only by RP's calculations is this a $1 trillion per year racket, but it forms the structural foundation that the entire Military Keynesian system depends on. The Holy Spirit is certainly sweeping Bob Barr into some nice libertarian territory. Thomas, Good point. (Nor should we give money to any foreign nation.) But are U.S. troops stationed in these nations to defend them -- or to police them? Let's not forget, one reason the U.S. insisted on "defending" Japan and Germany was so that those nations would not re-arm. And to provide the U.S. with overseas bases, first to prepare against the Soviets, later to support our empire. (Many U.S. bases in Europe are part of the military supply chain to Iraq and Afghanistan.) What if Germany, Japan, and the Arab states all said, "You're right! American taxpayers should not pay for our defense. Please leave. Go. Go home. Allow us to pay for our own defense -- by building up our own militaries, with top fighter jets and missile defense systems, and the latest technologies." Would we let them? Although, surely you agree that the guys that ran the FBI when Bob Barr was one of their hitmen thought so highly of the effective techniques of the Stazi that long ago they hired Marcus Wolf to put the systems in place here in the U.S. that you describe. But, you're forgetting that the Holy Spirit is working on Bob Barr right now, not Chuck Baldwin. And even if after Bob Barr is elected and immediately ends federal intervention in this area and the state governments enact their own nationalist ID, travel papers, and embedded micro-chip statutes, you're forgetting that on the other pane of his campaign blimp, Bob Barr is going to have the words "Jury Veto Power." So, only 1 out of 12 previously fat, dump, ugly, unemployed U.S. of American needs to be woken up by the Bob Barr Repentance and Restitution Campaign to stymie the implementation of yours and Chuck's Stazi-West. I'd make some methodolgical adjustments, however. After the FBI identifies and moves on these slime, I'd prefer that those in the responsible managements were confined, and beaten daily until they were prepared to confess without reservation in public trial to their wrongdoing, to their having given aid to spies and saboteurs. There would follow the trials themselves, of course, with juries drawn from the unemployed in each of the locale involved, and a prosecutor with the approach of an Andre Vyshinsky. And the purpose: Pedagogy, purely and simply. Years of experience with such methods in Eastern Europe have demonstrated their utter effectiveness in changing overall public attitudes. Just a little of this kind of instruction would work wonders when it comes to the illegal immigration problem, I'm sure you'd agree. Rudi,
