I like the way Barr used the gun control issue to also go after McCain on campaign finance. But he lacked specifics on the gun issue. A quick google finds that McCain has voted for a number of restrictions, and himself introduced a bill putting new restrictions on gun shows.
Barr mostly went along with the journalists’ desire to discuss ‘horse race’ issues. I think he could have made better use of the time to get out the message by pivoting to substantive issues.
Barr was evasive on DOMA, declining the opportunity to repeat his pledge to repeal part of it. It seems that’s still only for libertarian consumption.
I’m hoping someone will splice together his contradictory statements on DOMA for YouTube.
You know, years ago in the Libertarian Party it would be an utter dream to have the Presidential candidate on ABC News. It happend only once that I recall – David Bergland in 1984 appeared briefly on ABC Nightline.
Now, we’re not even in the Fall election season yet, and our guy Bob Barr is on ABC News.
Be prepared folks. This may be a 10 to 20 million vote total year for the LP. We are literally living in history in the making.
yeah, Badnarik got 5 minutes on msnbc with big headlines over his head from the platform saying WELCOME ALL REFUGEES and OPEN ALL BORDERS. The ridicule from the interviewer was palpable.
NOBODY cares what you have to say anymore. You’ve been exposed as a fraud and Navy wannabe. You couldn’t produce a single picture of yourself in uniform. How pathetic you are, pretending to be a sailor boy.
Barr had to be prodded by Sam Donaldson before he rejected the Patriot Act, and he never did say anything about DOMA. As soon as either issue is brought up he needs to come out with guns blaring and acknowledge his error in voting for the provisions and advocate strongly for their repeal. I know he’s split over DOMA, but he has said the Patriot Act needs to go away—- he can be very vocal about that without any reservation and without a reporter needing to prod him on the issue, IF that is he really believes !!

Eric Dumbdero,

Just LEAVE and do us all a big favor.

Barf has no principles. He simply says whatever his handlers tell him is politically beneficial.
