Cynthia McKinley may have alot of good views and may be a good lady, but there is one thing you guys need to realize before you vote for her. McKinley believes in paying reparations to blacks for slavery. How can you vote for a candidate that believes in reparations????

The june 1 edition of ballot-access news has the GP with 22 ballot states; I believe they’ve submitted petitons in only one of seven additional states whose deadlines have passed.

There’s no way Mcknney will be on 36-45 ballots. Thirteen state GP’s, who were most likely from the many “paper state” GP’s, didn’t send delegates to the convention everyone is so excited about.

You should have added …....for the PFP nomination.

The Green Party is broke and doesn’t have volunteers to circulate petitions; 15K was borrowed from members to pay for the convention.

Mckinney will probably be on 26-27 state ballots; over many months, she’s raised around $1000 in her home state of Ga & won’t be on the ballot. One of her main contenders for the nomination , kat Swift, raised a total of $252.

And you’re complaining about the lack of coverage and not being taken seriously.

To be fair, the folks at TPW have had only a member of the Independence Party covering the Green Party, so the lack of info may be understandable.

She is running with Rosa Clemente. That’s a great ticket! Move over Nader because someone is about to take over the independent left. I am not a Green but I donated to her campaign after seeing that documentary “American Blackout”. I like her views and think she will be able to add many things to the political discussion on a range of issues. I would also like to point out that she is much more involved in black issues and doesn’t try to shed the real issues blacks have like Obama does. I think she would at least be able to be more influential than Nader in this election. I saw a blurb on Democracy Now! about her and some blogs. I was hoping she could get some time in the major media. I know if america could just hear her speak they would love her.

She’s on about 28 ballots and counting. She’ll end up on at least 36, maybe as many as 45. Shes also got a decent shot at qualifying for primary matching funds (she’s got two more weeks, since she is on the ballot in CA for the Peace and Freedom Party).

This measly coverage of the Green Party convention, more than 24 hours after the fact, is a disgrace – you really need to change the name of this website.
