If they could get smaller windmills that could power a typical home on the Great Plains for a day and get the cost down to hundreds of dollars rather than thousands they may become popular. However, when they cost over $14K and only produce 1/3 the electricity a typical family uses, few are buying.

Would a company that provided a windmill/electrical source for individual homes be practical and profitable ??

From 1990: If Uncle Ralph likes Three Bladed Electricity Generating Wind Mills so much why has not Naders' Raiders adopted such as the '21st Century Peace Symbol' and a campaign icon?

Huh, huh, huh?

I'm not convinced about ethanol, but I would be very interested in the practical application of CNG and LP to run my automobiles. My 1946 Plymouth could easily be run on CNG or LP as a carburetor was developed decades ago to run the same engine in fork trucks. I am interested in performance and ease of access to CNG or LP. I'd be interested in seeing if more modern fuel-injected vehicles can be readily converted to LP/CNG.

Brilliant! Finally an intelligent plan. We need to consider solar and hydro, too.
Another possibility is ethanol made from sugar instead of corn.
