FWIW, I am not trying to intervene in Kentucky's election process. This matter is and should be in the hands of the LPKY. But I'm pretty sure that I'm allowed to have an opinion on how it should go, even if I live in California. On technical grounds, Landham is campaigning for the U.S. Senate, an office that affects everyone in the U.S.. And on general grounds, I don't see why fellow libertarians can't communicate with each other about the future (and present) of our movement; ditto fellow Libertarians, and the future (and present) of our party.

Watch as Dondero tries to convince people that Landham and racism is mainstream libertarianism.

Dondero, as a native of Georgia, I cannot directly say that Kentuckians aren't as racist as you are trying to portray them. But I can say that the "southerners are racist and will therefore support this guy" is a level of bigotry I didn't think even you were capable of. Until now.

Is there a low you cannot sink to?

Larry, your voice counts for a whole heluv lot. As a Kentuckian, I respect your views on this matter.

What I don't respect are outsider Left Coast Californians trying to intervene in your State's election process.

Yes, if Sonny's campaign hurts Barr's efforts in the State, than that should be taken into consideration for sure. But you do know that Kentuckians have an independent streak, and you must admit that a great many of your bretheren in the State would stand up and cheer for some of the things Sonny said. That could actually work to Barr's advantage.

Because they haven't filed the petitions yet, I'm sure that at the very least there is a way they can omit filing him. Hopefully they have an avenue that will allow them to replace him on the ballot.

The only name I care about on this petition is Bob Barr. Regardless of what the KYLP does he needs to publicly denounce this idiot.

For what it's worth, I am a Kentuckian, and I signed Brown's petition.

With so many Republicans being dissatisfied with McConnell that an unknown named Daniel Essek got 14,000+ primary votes, and with so many Democrats unsatisfied with Bruce Lunsford for running his company (Vencor) to the ground and causing so many people to lose their jobs (while he maintains houses in multiple states) and for endorsing Republican Ernie Fletcher for governor in 2003 after losing the primary that year, the opportunity would be ripe for the right third-party candidate to run this year in Kentucky.

Landham is damaged goods. The only mention of him in the media will be negative unless he does a bang-up job on the KET (public television) debate, if they have one.

Having Landham on the ballot will only drag Bob Barr down in Kentucky -- it will not lift the Libertarian Party up.

And what about the over 6,000 Kentucky voters who signed the petition to qualify the Libertarian Party of KY to get Sonny Landham on the ballot for US Senate?

Don't their voices count for anything?

I dare say, unless these new petitioners get 6,000 signatures from Kentuckians, the voice of the voters over-rule these out-of-staters. This could even backfire, and cause Kentucky voters to spurn the Libertarian Party for years to come.
