Baldwin on the ballot in Massachusetts
CPOMA member, Rich Selfridge announced that Chuck Baldwin has made it on the ballot in Massachusetts.
The last time a CP Presidential candidate was on the ballot there was back in 1992.
In other news, the Constitution Party got on the ballot in Louisiana recently, and is expected to get on in other southern states.

I am curious. We seem to have members of various non-major parties. I wonder if their is any consensus on how many signatures is an ideal number in a given period of time?
Also, how many people here would be interested in working together to promote fedeal election law reform legislation, maybe even a constitutional amendment.

Fish don’t fry in the kitchen,
Beans don’t burn on the grill.
Took a whole lotta tryin’
Just to get up that hill.
Now we’re up in the big leagues,
Gettin’ our turn at bat!
As long as we live,
It’s you and me, baby!
There ain’t nothin’ wrong with that!
Hooray, We’re Movin’ on Up!

IMHO, I think that a state-wide candidate of ANY party (or no party at all) should have to successfully gather a minimum of 200 signatures per Electoral Vote, and have one month to gather signatures. A state w/ 10 electoral votes, like Minnesota, would require 2000 signatures. California with her 55 electoral votes would require 11,000 signatures for a state-wide candidate of ANY party (or no party at all). The GOP and the Dems should have the same signature requirements as the Libertarians or Greens. Again, IMHO, any candidate that does not have the volunteers and resources to meet these modest signature requirements has no business running for office.
Carrying it further, I think that a Congressional candidate should need gather no more than 250 signatures. Legislative races would be based on the number of seats in the particular body of the legislature and dividing the state-wide requirement by that number. Ex: Any one wishing to run for the Minnesota House of Representatives would need to gather no more than 15 signatures (2000/134) and a State Senator 30 signatures (2000/67).
I also think that primary elections should be eliminated. Anyone meeting the petitioning requirements should be allowed to run for office. Even California Republicans were able to find Arnold Schwarzenegger’s name among hundreds in 2003. There is nothing wrong w/ a “cluttered” ballot.
I also support eliminating party designations on ballots. It should be the responsibility of the candidates and voters to determine which parties or groups may have endorsed a particular candidate for office. The government should not handicap elections by advertising candidates’ party affiliation.
Just for the record, I oppose a federal election law. It is the purview of the individual states to determine their own election laws. I actually support the repeal of the 15th, 17th, 19th, and 26th amendments as these infringe on individual state sovereignty and are contrary to a federalist republican model of government. An individual State has full authourity to permit any of these amendments provisions, but the federal government should not be telling the individual States who should and should not be a voter.

Tony, now that you have given your opinion [which I totally agree with in the field of SECULAR PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION] was the method really necessary?
I keep hoping that non Dems and non GOP will be better than the establishment thugs ruining our nation.

BEN WRITES: “I also support eliminating party designations on ballots. It should be the responsibility of the candidates” (END)
...why not give ‘qualified candidates’ ‘a line’ with x characters and let the candidate decide what to put in the line?..
...great stuff..common sense points..and the fucks will fight you tooth and nail..(which is why a better strategy to promote ‘libertarianism’ is to use the limited re$ource$, etc., to create competitive, killer, media outlet(s)...!!fuck the thousand$ spent on signature-collecting, salaries and expenses for administrators, party officials, etc…some/many of whom appear as goddamned republicrat embarrassments!..
...as an aside, ‘the internet’ has been a great tool..allowing some of us to ‘bypass’ the fucking crud that passes for ‘the (important) news’...
...does anyone know of any web-based, ACTIVE, OPEN, honest, political forums?
...the only active forums of which i’m aware are pieces of republicrat shit such as ‘free republic’ (where the republifucks throw out anyone not a numbskull and who won’t suck republican peepee) ... (in fact, merely telling the truth about their goddamned fool and ABSOLUTELY PHONY, cult hero, reagan, will get you tossed off their shitty republican site!)
...have a good day!..

anybody that curses like Mr. Clark eithre loses all credibility or still is not old enough to drink. Either way if you have to curse to make a point shows a sign of immaturity.
Guys, a new zogby poll just released shows Barr at 5% which is great news. Despite all the news media showing Obamamania and now McCain’s pick of VP , The Libertarian Party stands a chance to make history and actually qualify for automatic ballot access in MANY states in 2012. This would save the next candidate HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of dollars and TIME and LAWSUITS spent on just getting on ballots. This would leave those resources free to actually campaign and get spread the message of Liberty and less government.
The time is now to UNITE and stand behind the Libertarian candidate BOB BARR to make the strongest showing possible this November.
But we cannot do it without your support .
I urge everyone to donate something today SUNDAY to the campaign and help keep these polls steady. Even if you havenot decided to vote for Barr yet, I urge you to donate $25 now as we only have 65 days to election day. The campaign needs money now as we enter the crucial part of the campaign.

Yes, let freedom grow.
Yes, American Democracy has ONE MORE candidate than Hilter or Stalin.
Yes, the Dems and GOP are not Identical Twins, but they sure are kissin cousins.
Be aware, Z Polls are natoriously unrealiable.
Be aware of Frank MacKay’s stealth and corruption in the Independence/ Independent Green Party/ Eco Party/ Reform Movement.
Be aware of The Bob Barr inappropriate influence on TPW. Once again, a non Barr posting collects tons of Barr replies.

That’s a good thing, Barr supporters are everywhere. Freedom is growing.
Don’t forget Hurricane McCain and Hurricane Obama.

...we’re working on new concepts and techniques to try, for example, to make you, davy, aware that despite your whole miserable republicrat life being (LARGELY) controlled, etc. by ‘the money thing$’ you, davy, haven’t an honest clue as to the origin, nature, etc. of even one fucking ‘dollar..’ ...

I keep seeing complaints that Barr supporters dominate TPW. Since the the LP is by far the largest opposition party in the country what do you expect? LP people post more often because there are more of them to do so. It’s not some big conspiracy, it’s just a question of numbers. “God is on the side with the biggest battalions”.
