It is true that the state is disallowing ballot substitution; but in that case the Barr/LPNH lawsuit is hardly “pointless” (as Dr. Phillies claims). If third parties are going to both comply with the petitioning law, and hold nominating conventions at a time when there is public and media interest in the election, then substitution is essential. That’s an issue in more states than NH (see eg PA, where the GOP is trying to keep Barr off the ballot with a spurious suit claiming the substitution there was a “fraud”), and in more years than 2008.

As for the rest, Dr. Phillies goes into points I never mentioned. Methinks he is protesting too much. Perhaps he has a guilty conscience on this. He certainly has been close-mouthed about his decision to actively campaign on the BTP ticket: this is the first time in more than a month that I’ve seen him write anything on it. He didn’t even mention it at the anti-Barr sites he frequents: for example, on the very day the BTP announced the news, Last Free voice was carrying an article on how Dr. Phillies was withdrawing from the race and supporting Barr; the author, ENM, confirmed with me that she knew nothing about any Phillies/BTP alliance.

...for whatever reasons, it seems most/all ‘political’ ‘groups,’ ‘parties,’ deteriorate.. as the worst among them/us tend to gravitate towards ‘the top positions/positions of power/etc…

...furthermore, thoughtful, decent people tend to avoid the fucking scumbags, knuckleheads, etc. that tend to float to ‘the top’ in ‘politics’...so we have an awful cesspool here..

...it seems even my favorite, the LP, has a majority of people in ‘leadership positions’ who can’t get through their thick skulls that:

1.) one or two or even 10 or 100 million fucking, stinking ‘dollars’ is but a fart in a cat. 6 hurricane, you dumb republicrat fucks!! (nevermind that you republicrat dopes don’t even understand the origin, nature, etc. of even one ‘dollar’) Rush stinking Limbaugh, etc. republicrat media cheerleaders galore burn through that in a couple of segments of their ‘shows’—SHOWS WHICH AMOUNT TO NOTHING MORE THAN PRO- STINKING REPUBLICAN/CRAT PARTY COMMERCIAL$...

...AND THE MOST POPULAR “LIBERTARIAN” ON THE AIR IS A REPUBLICRAT FUCK-HEAD BY THE NAME OF KNEEL BOORTZ WHO SUCKS REPUBLICAN PEEPEE!..and who harms any decent ‘libertarian’ cause with his loud ignorance..

The people who originally joined had no intentions of the party ever growing. They understood nothing about politics or how to give a message to the American people. Hence the reason we are just now becoming mainstream.

We will look back to Barr and remember him as the candidate who finally put this party into mainstream politics.

LP train left the Denver station in late May and we might as well just run over the knuckleheads in the way. The old guard of the LP had 35 fricken years to get something done. How did it work for us? Happy with all the people they elected?
I don’t have 35 years left to wait for some LP debate club to determine who sits in what deck chair. Therefore, the revolution and “new” libertarian party is so darn refreshing that I feel invigorated again.

Again, I think Bob Barr will receive about one million votes in the election, which would make him the highest vote-getter the LP has ever had. Of course, that would just be a footnote to the election. It probably won’t even be enough votes for third place, given Ralph Nader’s candidacy. And it’s not going to cause a massive influx of people to the LP after the election is over.
