The life of the third party
The New York Times profiles Libertarian Party vice presidential candidate Wayne Allyn Root as he returns to his home town of New York:
“NO matter where I go,” said Wayne Allyn Root, “everyone stops me and says I look like Bill Clinton. It must be the hair.”That’s where the resemblance ends….
The reporter, Thomas Vinciguerra, has dinner with Root at a Chinese restaurant. In due course:
Fortune cookies arrived. Mr. Root’s read, “You are not afraid of storms because you are learning to sail your ship.”He nodded in agreement about those storms. “I sail right into them,” he said.
