Best Counties in Nation for Some Minor Party, Independent Presidential Candidates Identified
From preliminary election returns, it appears that these are the best counties for five particular presidential candidates:
Nader: Morgan County, Tennessee 5.2%
Barr: Esmeralda County, Nevada, 2.7%
Baldwin: Millard County, Utah, 5.6%
McKinney: either St. Bernard or LaFourche Parish, both in Louisiana, each 1.1%
Brian Moore: Essex County, Vermont, 2.1%
Thanks to Jack Ross for doing the laborious job of checking all the counties; also thanks to David Leip of the US Election Atlas. Of course when the returns are final, these may change. For the major parties, McCain’s best county is King County, Texas, at 93.2%; Obama’s best jurisdiction is Washington, D.C., which gave him a higher percentage than any county in any state, 92.9%. Aside from D.C., Obama’s best county is Prince Georges County, Maryland, 89.1%.

I expected Mckinney to do better in her home-county of Dekalb, Georgia.

Bill it the fact that you have no neighbors related to the Housing Crisis?

Barr’s 12 votes in Esmeralda County tied the number of votes received for None of these Candidates. With Root residing in Nevada I expected better.
Our LP Congressional Candidate, Sean Morse, received 3.51% in Esmeralda County with 15 votes.

Is this site not going to be updated any longer? I see IPR is for sale on eBay. Is this site on the market, too?

Not that I heard of.

The Morgan County for Nader thing is truly bizarre. Morgan County, Tennessee is about as redneck as you can get. Ozark residents laugh at Morgan County. West Virginians won’t even go there.
Weird.

Yes, IPR is much better. The new owner has been chosen, and it looks like it will continue to be the replacement for TPW, which keeps reappearing even when we think it’s going to disappear, for the last 3 months.

I voted for Chuck Baldwin, though I don’t know how of a Libertarian I am. For one thing, I’d like to see a Bill of Rights for the unborn, disabled and the elderly…and not leave these rights up to the state.
