Christina Tobin, Nader’s national ballot access coordinator, said in the Capitol Friday that she was submitting paper work containing the signatures of more than 55,000 registered voters—or more than double the 24,665 registered voters required of third-party candidates—to earn a ballot position.

The Fort Smith Times Record reports that “supporters of independent presidential hopeful Ralph Nader submitted about 2,000 signatures Friday seeking to place Nader on the state’s November ballot.” The secretary of state’s office has 10 days to certify the signatures, at least 1,000 of which must be be accepted as valid.
