New moniker? I don’t have any one solution. I’m for freedom of choice, which might itself be a good moniker for some. It’s as good a short summary of libertarian ideology as any , and has the advantage of being unappealing to right wingers because it is associated with freedom to choose abortion. While that issue is quite relevant at the moment, individual freedom of choice is applicable to all issues.
They are a fascist cult which will stop at absolutely nothing, whether it be disaffiliating states that they don’t control or setting up their own affiliates so they have perpetual control. They now have it, and will use it to promote trumpo-fascism, keep Trump Republicans from having libertarian competition (especially if it looks like the election could be close), and to smear libertarianism as extreme bigotry. They have enough pull to smear libertarianism perpetually, and it’s too late to stop it. Time to ditch the party and label and call yourself something else if you are a decent person and care about your future reputation at all. Dissociate from them completely and publicly to limit the damage as much as possible. That includes formally renouncing the pledge & asking to be removed from all lists.
What would you propose as a new moniker?
Once upon a time, I used “Liberty for America”.
For someone who used to pride herself on radical consistency, Harlos is only too happy these days to make special exceptions when her new caucus friends are in a bind. Because it’s all about “the members,” i.e., disgruntled MiCaucs in other states, even though affiliate membership and national party membership are quite separate. The den mother is pro-centralization now that her team controls the LNC.
