We quote the Treasurer:
Attached please find the Libertarian National Committee, Inc. financial statements, as of April 30, 2026.Due to the Joint Fundraising Committee (JFC) impacts on the financial statements on Pages 5, 9 & 10, it is best to focus on the balance sheet data at the bottom of Page 3.The Cash situation remains quite good due to the closing of the sale of the office building in Alexandria, VA in August 2025, but down from the March 31, 2026 balance. Total Cash (net of any Joint Fundraising Committee liabilities) was $722,740, down from $783,092 at 3/31/2026.Also on the April 2026 month end balance sheet, Accounts Payable, the Credit Cards Liability, and the Accrued Expenses & Liabilities sum to $48,813, up from $32,642 at 3/31/2026.The Deferred Liabilities (technically, it should be called Deferred Revenue) increase is due to cash received in April for May 2026 Convention registrations that will be eliminated as a liability and recognized as Revenue by the LNC in May.The April 2026 income statement is summarized on Page 4, with greater income statement detail on Pages 6, 7 & 8. April 2026’s revenue of $93,441 was a large increase from March 2026’s revenue of $55,471. This was due to a maximum legal donation from one donor of $44,300 in April. The 2026 budget that was passed by the LNC contained only annual, and not monthly, budgeted numbers. The 2026 total budgeted revenue (minus convention revenue, which will be recognized in May) was $973,765, and January through April’s combined revenue of $288,495 was 29.6% of that number. The LNC is pacing to achieve 88.9% of total year 2026 budgeted revenue, and that is up from the 80% in the March 2026 LNC Financial Report. Hopefully, Convention Revenue and Fundraising will boost that percentage.
April expenses totaled $98,065, with Total Year-to-Date expenses of $336,819, which was 29.8% of total annual budgeted expenses (minus convention expenses, which will be recognized in May) of $1,129,754.April expenses were high due to $48,248 in Professional services expense.April expenses, while higher than January, February and March expenses, were, on a Year-to-Date basis, within the budgeted amount, which would be one-third total budgeted 2026 expenses.
The LNC had a Net Income of negative $4,624 in April 2026. Net Income for the first four months of 2026 combined was -$48,324.FEC reports have been filed on a timely basis by Paula Edwards, the LNC’s FEC consultant, and all other FEC inquiries have been answered on a timely basis. I would like to thank Assistant Treasurer Patrick Mitchell for his assistance during this LNC term in the preparation of the LNC’s FEC filings and financial statements.Bill Redpath, LNC Treasurer
Some numbers are of particular interest.
Total non-convention income for April was $93,441, which included one maximum donation of $44,300 and $49,141 in other donations.
Total cash net of Joint Fundraising Committee liabilities fell by $60,352, and is now at $722,740.
Total of all bank accounts is reported at $1,200,844, which must include the Kennedy debts. That number fell by $62,852 in the past month.
“deferred liabilities”, mostly convention income to date, total $120,972. This number is, I gather, not on the high side.
“membership revenue” was down to $31,359, or perhaps $94,000 for the year. In 2022, this number was $618,573.
