Michigan Libertarian Suit Advances

The group associated with the LNC has filed a response to what the group not associated with the LNC has said.  You can read it here:

The author has not read it.  My reliable source who has read it opines that it does a strong job of making the LNC’s case.

The Saliba group’s latest filing left a lot to be desired. To start with, they cited a county court case, which would have questionable precedential value in a federal court. Further, if it did, it tended to support the LNC’s decision.

In the filing of 1/24/24, they said that the LNC should not have the issues like the ability to determine if the bylaws were violated, yet they raised the issue in their initial appellate filing.

The filing is not particularly good.

Most briefs leave the impression that they party that filed them has a good case. I think the LNC has a reasonable case on some of their claims, but I’m no expert. What was your view, Andrew, of the amicus brief?

It looks like the LNC has an extremely good case.
