The Kennedy Presidential campaign has filed a statement of voluntary withdrawal with the Arizona Secretary of State, as reported by the Libertarian Party of Louisiana at https://www.facebook.com/groups/254985825071721/?sorting_setting=CHRONOLOGICAL. He will no longer be on the ballot there.
His campaign committee can keep raising money.
The Takeover Crowd doubled down on a single charismatic figure, putting all their hopes in them, and then it turned out their choice didn’t bother to even try seeing things through? Who (Dave Smith) could’ve (Michael Heisse) forseen (Michael Rectenwald) that?
This is all such a mess. I have intentionally been following the antics of the LNC as little as possible. They have corrupted and destroyed decades of work by many dedicated people.
My doctor does not permit me to have stress in my life, which is why I could never go back. And I haven’t written anything (here or elsewhere) since last fall.
I wish 3PW had dark mode. One of the reasons I have stayed away since February is that with my current state of vision after the accident, I can barely read this black text on a white background. All the websites that I build have a dark mode or are designed solely in dark mode.
If I’m working and there isn’t a good baseball game to watch/re-watch, I tend to spin between cable news channels. I have just been watching a repeat of a show on NewsNation from yesterday afternoon.
You need to add Larry Sharpe to your list. If he wasn’t party to the takeover, he certainly has decided to cash in on it. In fact, my guess is that he may be deep inside the conspiracy that led to an agreement with the LNC to launder money and funnel it to Kennedy.
Is ANYONE in that party actually working to help their chosen nominee for President?
Is his campaign in debt? Will any money raised by the agreements with other parties be used to retire his debts?
His most recent filing shows about $3.9 million in the bank and about $3.5 million in debt.
So he makes an arrangement with the Libertarian National Committee to get them to violate the most basic rules of how a political party operates in supporting its candidates, raises money through them, drops out, and he can keep raising money through them?
Who gets this money? Trump? Or does it get used to pay for the removal of the dead worm from Kennedy’s brain? Maybe a worm transplant into Trump’s brain? Anything would help…
The contract says the LNC holds the money (above the max for a candidate) in a separate account and has to spend 90% of it supporting RFK as “Team Kennedy” dictates. So the money the LNC has pulled in through the JFC would in theory not just pay off campaign debts. My guess is that it will be used to help Trump.
Unfortunately, your guess is likely to turn out correct.
