Madam Chair:
As you know, not only am I Treasurer, I am also the National Ballot Access coordinator for the Libertarian Party. The period starting immediately after the National Convention through the date of the last petition drive deadline (this year, September 6) is the busiest segment of the four year political cycle for LP petition drives.
And, I am not an armchair warrior in this effort. Due to the current petitioner shortage, I am currently in Rhode Island on the 39th day since Memorial Day of my being a full time petitioner to get the Oliver/ter Maat ticket on the ballot. I have also been to New Mexico, Minnesota, Kentucky and Tennessee in this effort. So, far I have gathered 3,642 signatures (most volunteer) and donated $13,500 to two states to get the Oliver/ter Maat ticket on the ballot.
Given that the LNC is tasked with supporting the LP presidential ticket, I would hope that you might cut me some slack in my getting up to full speed in the role of Treasurer. But, maybe not.
But, what has gone so wrong with financial reporting?
Federal Election Commission reports have been filed on a timely basis.
Internal financial statements through July month end have been forwarded to the LNC, I believe on a timely basis.
I delivered an oral Treasurer’s report at the LNC meeting, but the data in the financial reports are not complicated and largely speak for themselves.
I have told you and Kathy Yeniskavich several times that I am available to work on the Washington Hilton Hotel bill, but I am not cognizant that either of you have reached out to me on that.
I am always available by phone, and you know my number, but I don’t recall you contacting me about any specific Treasurer’s task that you wanted or needed to be done.
It is true that I need to dig in deeper in my role as Treasurer. And, I will do so starting no later than Monday, September 9. But, I don’t see much harm to the party by what has transpired since Memorial Day.
Bill Redpath
Redpath is spinning the fact he refuses to do the job he was elected for. He needs to resign immediately.
The reason they have been struggling with petitioners is because Chase Oliver is a terrible candidate. He may be the worst in party history.
I have a lot more confidence in Bill Redpath than I do Angela McArdle.
I agree totally!
Hail Bill Redpath!
Unrelated to this article, but relevant to you and the overall subject of this blog: some one on yours is purporting to be Cheryl Hines Kennedy and that you are personally offering a 2:1 match for all donations to the RFK JR campaign today.
1) is that true or a lie that you are offering such a match?
2) how can you do that, if it’s true? I’m not tempted to donate, but aren’t there individual contribution limits?
3) Those limits wouldn’t apply to Nicole Shanahan, since she’s on the ticket. Why would or could it be anyone other than her offering a donor match?
Some one asked similar questions on your blog, but I haven’t seen an answer.
Hopefully they’ll be allowed here.
