We are in receipt of a notice of a motion from the LNC’s acting secretary. The motion would limit how many motions by mail were allowed on the floor at a time. I quote
Motion: To strike the following language from the LNC Policy Manual: Section 1.02 Meetings, 7) Electronic Email Ballots, 2) “Only one (1) LNC and one (1) Executive Committee main motion can be pending at one time.”
Moved By: Chair McArdle
That actually makes sense. Life is confusing enough, without having to track multiple motions at the same time when you are voting.
And let’s be realistic about it. Do they really need to have four or five simultaneous motions to purge members of the committee running at the same time?
They’re actually moving to eliminate the limit that’s already in place, which they passed a few months ago and slowed party business to a crawl.
They implemented that limit, but now they are voting to *remove* it.
Yes, but look at how much more fun it will be when we can watch them remove three or four members simultaneously? And McAddled can put up three or four motions to remove the secretary, based on different causes — all unrelated of course.
They could not do that, even if they wanted to, and they don’t appear to want to.
I predict everyone who voted to implement these will now vote to remove them, without debate.
I’m not taking that bet!
