(Watch at the beginning of the New York state convention debate below where Presidential candidate Jacob Hornberger brings up Sharpe’s potential conflicts of interest and Sharpe’s answer)

I’ve confirmed either the campaign or the American Values PAC offered money to other Libertarian leaders in addition to Sharpe to join Kennedy efforts. One person hired directly by the Kennedy campaign was former party Executive Director Wes Benedict who served as Texas State Director for the campaign. Benedict is a current Libertarian National Committee Chair candidate.
Even with having Sharpe on board and discussions with McArdle and California delegates, on April 13, 2024, ABC News reported that RFK Jr. ruled out a Libertarian run for President.
“We’re not gonna have any problems getting on the ballot ourselves so we won’t be running Libertarian,” he told ABC News.
Despite, Kennedy not running as a Libertarian, McArdle invited him to speak at the Libertarian National Convention where the Presidential nomination was to take place.
Also speaking at the Libertarian National Convention was former President Donald J. Trump who apparently invited himself. McArdle made up a wild story to prevent the delegates from knowing that fact, but more on that scandal a bit later in the series.
