LNC Moves Toward Suing McArdle

Quoting a post from National Chair Nekhaila:

Chair Nekhaila, in a ExComm call for March 1:

Having sent a second demand letter to former LNC Chair McArdle – Litigation Committee recommends proceeding with a civil action against Ms. McArdle.
  • Move to authorize Chair Nekhaila to execute a retainer agreement with Bernebei & Kabat, a DC law firm, to take immediate civil action against former LNC Chair Angela McArdle with a $10,000 retainer and a $650/hour rate.
  • Move to increase budget line 8210-20 Legal Proactive by $10,000 and to authorize payment from the same budget line in the amount of $10,000 to Bernebei & Kabat for civil litigation representation.

    Seems like throwing good money after bad.

    May be more cost-effective to learn a painful lesson about giving unfettered access to Party resources to those who can self-deal or deal to confederates without accountability, and take protective measures to avoid similar occurrences, perhaps through fiduciary liability and other forms or insurance.

    No LP members or outsiders will trust our party until we get to the bottom of McArdle’s fiduciary breaches. Any candidates for the LNC board this year should be asked to pledge this lawsuit’s continuation to judgment or settlement.
