LPUS Membership Continues Decline

The count of Sustaining Members in the Libertarian national party fell from 9296 at the end of November 2025 to 9090 at the end of December, a decline of 206 people. The count of Life members, who are also counted as sustaining members, remained constant at 3308. The total count of members rose from 237,651 to 237,670, an increase of 19.

As there are 3308 Life Members, at the end of November there were approximately 6000 dues-paying members, meaning that on the average every month 500 people have their memberships expire and needed to renew. A loss of approximately 200 members indicates that around 40% of members are leaving the party when their memberships expire, on top of which the rate at which new members are joining the party must be quite limited.

They left the party long before their dues expired. It’s just that the party don’t realize it until the income they took (and took for granted) stopped showing up. Renewals is a science. If you don’t have anyone familiar with it leading it – you’ll never see the signs until you’re the last person in the room.
