LNC ExComm to Meet to Spend Money on Litigation

The request is in large part for $32,500 for retainers.
LNC Executive Committee Meeting for Monday, March 16th at 7 PM ET.
Motion: Move to approve of 2026 Convention Speakers
Motion: Move to authorize Chair Nekhaila to execute a retainer agreement with Bernebei & Kabat, a DC law firm, to take immediate civil action against former LNC Chair Angela McArdle with a $10,000 retainer and a $650/hour rate.
 
Motion: Move to increase budget line 8210-20 Legal Proactive by $10,000 and to authorize payment from the same budget line in the amount of $10,000 to Bernebei & Kabat for civil litigation representation.
 
Motion: Move to authorize Chair Nekhaila to execute a retainer agreement with The Law Office of Gary Fielder, to take immediate civil action against the New Mexico Secretary of State on behalf of and with our New Mexico affiliate with $2,500 retainer, already paid, and a $200/hour rate.
 
Motion: Move to authorize Chair Nekhaila to execute a retainer agreement with Fresh IP PLC to initiate civil action against parties in New Mexico infringing on the Libertarian National Committee’s trademarked intellectual property, with a $20,000 retainer and a $300 per hour rate.
 
Motion: Move to increase budget line 8210-20 Legal Proactive by $10,000 and to authorize payment from the same budget line in the amount of $20,000 to Fresh IP PLC for civil litigation representation.

    There was a time when Libertarians hired lawyers mainly to obtain ballot access. Now, they mainly hire lawyers to sue each other.

    The McArdle suit needs to happen.

    The one with Fielder is about retaining ballot access.
