Dear Members of the Libertarian National Committee,
I know that it isn’t a secret that the organization is bleeding money. I don’t want to add more to those problems, but would like to offer similar solutions to what I had brought forward while serving as Region 6 Alternate during the last LNC term (’24-’26). I know you’re all taking this matter seriously, and I am happy to offer advice/guidance in other areas if requested.
1) I’m hearing from many members that they are getting a lot of “spammy” mail from the LP. I even heard one member had received as many as 10 copies of the same mailer recently! I think the easiest move right now would be to completely eliminate all physical mailers and move to entirely digital methods of marketing.
2) I do believe that the LNC has been overpaying on payroll processing fees as well. It’s something to look into. I think we could potentially slash those fees by as much as 50% if we do our due diligence. $1700 per month is extremely high for such a small organization, and adds up to over 20k$ per year.
3) Finally, I do believe that the ongoing Parity Project is a waste of money. The ROI doesn’t seem to be where it needs to be in order to make the monthly expenses worth it. I also believe that using 10+ yr old social media marketing strategies is a big reason for its lack of success. Trimming the fat here and cutting the contractor loose is a hard decision to make, I’m sure. But based on the actual returns, the only reason would even want to keep him hired is to give the appearance of trying to fix the problem. In reality, it’s making it worse.
We have a lot of capable volunteers in this organization, and I don’t think it would be hard to pull some heads together that are willing to put in similar work with better strategies for free. Again, I’m happy to advise further in this area if needed. I have a lot of success and real world experience in this area outside of LP circles.
