Local Campaigns
Most members are surprised to learn how little money the national party invests on supporting local political activities, either through direct investment or by providing supporting materials and structures.
Notice that I have not proposed to spend money to recruit more members for the national party. I am delighted that Americans choose to join the Libertarian Party. However, successful membership recruitment should be a consequence of our successes, not a cause of our successes. The most effective way to involve a Libertarian friend in our party remains face-to-face contact “Will you help us — your friends — with our local campaign? Will you help me with my local campaign?”
