Overt Antisemitism on the LNC

Last updated on April 15, 2026

We quote LNC Regional Alternate Bryce Thon, posting on the public LNC discussion list.

“I understood your intentions perfectly Mr. Thompson, you will radically support the unproductive parasite classes right to lobby for other members of the unproductive parasite class to exploit the productive class on the grounds that you don’t like lists.”

That phrasing “unproductive parasite class” is in a certain way a reference to middlemen, based on a lack of  understanding as to how complex economies work.

However, as explained by Abba Lerner https://www.commentary.org/articles/abba-lerner/the-myth-of-the-parasitic-middlemanproductive-and-unproductive-labor/ writing in Commentary, it’s also an antiSemitic reference to Jewish businessmen.

The reference recycles our observation on the two recent LNC motions on FARA, namely both notably target Jewish groups, but do not name others.

The perpetual resolution machine is more than tiresome.

I’m not fully sure that the use “unproductive parasite class” as a phrase is a unique showing of Thon’s antisemitism. The denigration of certain classes of people as parasites, such as the middleman in Lerner’s piece, is more common within libertarian circles and the libertarian movement by targeting the class of legislators or politicians, and other government employees, or those who use welfare services or government aid. That it can be used as an antisemitic dogwhistle is perhaps more a condemnation of the movement, insofar as its main radical theorists have played footsie with the likes of known antisemites such as David Duke, and insofar as it has not done well in promoting a consistent theoretical position opposing the oppression and exploitation done by governmental forces and their economic accomplices while also condemning the forms of bigotry that are more present in the movement today.

There are, however, public statements made by Thon, where he used “Jew” as a prejorative and denigrated a woman for converting to Judaism, as well as expressing a hatred for Judaism. I can send over evidence of such statements if you’d wish, though it has also been published on Liberty Sentries’s social media.
