National Convention Day 4

I am not publishing vote totals because they are not being reported on YouTube.  I would need an image I can capture, which is not occurring.  At 9AM there is a youtube signal but a static glyph and no sound apparent. 9:05 Chair calls for delegates to come to the room and take their seats. Call to order.

9:07 Moellman claims that under Roberts there is no way to reduce the number of delegates.  There are 627 delegates and 13 alternates, even if some of them have checked out. VA Chair says one of her delegates has left. We advance to balloting for Treasurer. There are only two candidates.

Meanwhile, RJ1 has given us the results of the 2nd and 3rd ballots of the Chair Election:

Round 2 National Chair Results based on images shared in an LP Delegates group on Facebook:
Evan McMahon 241, James Ostrowski 236, Wes Benedict 110, Write-ins 12, NOTA 4

Round 3 National Chair Results:
Evan McMahon 320, James Ostrowski 265, Write-ins 1, NOTA 12

So soon as we reach tabulation, there will be At-Large speeches.

A speaker from the Sound Money Defense League, ‘a friend of Ron Paul and Tom Woods’, is introduced as a speaker. He quotes the restriction on states issuing paper money and falsely claims that it is a restriction on the Federal government. He is apparently unaware that the supply of gold and silver can fluctuate, just as the supply of paper money can fluctuate.  After much more economic thinking of this sort, his speech comes to an end.

Speeches by At-Larges are reduced to one minute.  We get speeches.  They are done.  Someone submits a resolution to elect the remaining members of Judicial Committee. Point of order: out of order. Debate starts and dies, as the Chair is consulting with the parliamentarian.  Issue: A resolution is not a motion.  Resolution is ruled out of order.

Doug Knebel is the new Treasurer.

The At-Large ballots were defective.  They said to vote for one not to vote for as many as you wish.

2024 Presidential candidate Chase Oliver gets to speak. He is loudly applauded at several points.  There is now a loss of signal. The livestream has stopped.

Update correction thanks to  Cara Schultz: Jeremy Kauffman was ejected from teh convention.
