Readers may recall an event in Grand Rapids in which a delegate to the national convention was alleged to have struck another delegate. The delegate alleged to have made the attack was later seen being led off in handcuffs by local peace officers. A trial was scheduled for October 8. By report, a judge was selected, the witnesses were there, and since the defendant had asked for a jury trial potential jurors were present. The defendant did not appear. There is a court document that appears to identify a contempt citation and specify a significant cash bail.
So Allgood skipped trial and now apparently has a contempt citation but not a bench warrant for failure to appear…
So much the personal responsibility and accountability part of him being libertarian, I guess…
Since the defendant has failed to appear at trial, is it likely they would even be a bail option after apprehension?
It depends upon if it goes to a warrant and if the state of Michigan thinks it is worth it to extradite him.
I did not witness the incident referenced above and I have never met or spoken to any of the people involved. I did not record the following video nor have I seen the complete video of this incident. Somebody posted a clip of the video on a discussion forum and I downloaded it and posted it to YouTube.
