LNC Meets after National Convention Meeting

Some of the acoustics are poor.

I regularly explain Massachusetts ballot access law. There is weak recollection

of my explanations.

LNC Meeting of May 25, 2026
Meeting to order at 2:32. Attendance is called.

Public comments:
Various people speak up for at-large candidates.
Harlos asks to be appointed as historical committee chair.
Someone observes that the signage in the convention behind speakers should have said ‘Libertarian Party’ and that the 1-800-elect-us chants should be revived.
Agenda requests:
Move disaffiliate NH to the top.
Redpath asks early time for discussing MA and MD ballot access.
Motion to add special investigative committee on NH is rejected.
motion to skip filling at-large seats rejected.

Ford estimates final report of Convention Oversight Committee will be in weeks.
Hannah Kennedy introduces the staff.
Discussion as to whether or not an alternate can make a point of order if the representative is present. Chair says no. Appeal of the decision of the chair fails.
Motion to fail vacancies by electing Nekhaila and a coinflip to break the tie. Amendment to elect Nekhaila and break the tie with an LNC vote. Vote on amendment is 8-6 I think.Vote on main motion passes; Nekhaila is elected. Longstreth and D’Orazio each get two minutes to speak. Longstreth wins.

Chair moves to disaffiliate LPNH for endorsing Trump and other behavioral actions. Martin (mostly hard to understand) – clear cause but mitigating factors.
Someone moves to form an investigative committee to establish an investigative committee to establish the facts. Redpath opposes. disaffiliation is badly overdue. Someone – there is an automatic appeal if they want it.Someone: It would be good to have a report if there is litigation. Martin proposes that this is a disciplinary process; there needs to be an investigation. Amendment fails.

Someone quotes date of the Trump endorsement…2.4 million views. No: Shaw, Hogarth; abstain Martin. Vote is 15-2-1

Officers introduce themselves. Chair: Less email, and always on the public list. I will help people craft motions. Vice Chair: Amanda Griffiths especiallly interested in structure and CRM. Knebel: Some cleanup to do; thanks Redpath for his help.Other members introduce themselves.

Hannah Kennedy will move to being the part-time operations director and appoint Steve Dasbach as (volunteer) Executive Director.

Nominations for EPCC. Names are inaudible for the most part. The five are appointed without objection.

Nominations for APRC: There seven candidates. Chair asks to use OPAvote.

Executive Committee: There are four nominations. There are appointed.

Ballot access: Redpath. Ongoing is Maryland. They need 10,000 signatures by July 1. Redpath estimates 16,000 raw signatures are needed; they currently have 8500 raw signatures. They want to complete this in 2026. LPMD has spent a considerable sum so far. We need to spend money soon or MD funds go to work.

MA: Larkin needs 5000 valid signatures by the end of July. Redpath: We might need $50,000 now or more. Dasbach says that ULMA may have their own candidate for the race. He just learned this. There is a question as to whether the state affiliate is planning on running a candidate. Someone thinks that MA race lets people run for office as Libertarians. Chair: We have an affiliate; we must work with them. If they do not want to run a candidate, we must respect them. Considerable discussion that does not match perfectly Massachusetts ballot access laws.

We seem to have reached announcements, most of which are inaudible.
