Caryn Ann Harlos has submitted another amicus to the Judicial Committee, with John Ponty as the anonymous author of an initial draft, largely dealing with the Dixon Report and its representation by the amicus of Stamper, et al. Harlos maintains that the Stamper, et al., repesentation of the Dixon report and other issues is incorrect. The Harlos amicus has considerable exhibits, so it appears here as a linked PDF.
Mr. Ponty at first submitted and the JC rejected (and that shows, though it was not their point) that they are applying their standards evenly. Since Mr. Ponty could not prove he was a sustaining member due to his use of a pseudonyms, he was told that it had to be submitted by a verifiable member. Since I agreed with the Ponty points and was willing to adopt them as my own, I submitted with an original preface with some additional points. I am not a lawyer, but from my legal understanding (which does not come from an LLM), they completely miscast detrimental reliance. And though I did not say this in the preface, I would bet that nearly all, if not all, of the signatory chairs were not even aware of the 2021 committee. I could be wrong. I don’t think I am. It was a contrivance, and a misguided one at that. If I had to place a second bet, Martin steered the prompts that created that AI jumble.
